The International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued a statement stating that they are not involved in the so-called Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) project called Unicoin, noting that the organization is not involved with the Digital Currency Monetary Authority (DCMA) or Unicoin. It is reported that on April 10, PR Newswire reported that the Digital Currency Monetary Authority (DCMA) announced the launch of a central bank digital currency called Unicoin. DCMA’s original press release acknowledged that the IMF “has not officially endorsed Unicoin,” but stated that the IMF had reviewed the project’s white paper. (Cryptoslate)
