According to foreign media reports, Meta recently officially announced the training and reasoning chip project, and will launch the first custom AI chip. Meta calls this AI chip MTIA. Its power consumption is only 25 watts. It claims to be more effective in processing low-to-medium complexity AI models than competing chips. At present, the focus is on the reasoning of Meta applications, not training. Meta did not reveal a timetable for deploying MTIA, saying MTIA is part of a "family" of chips that speed up AI training and inference.
