According CCN, United United Airlines removing 24 Boeing 777s from service after Denver incident
Take away from the incident
1. United Airlines is removing all of its Boeing 777 planes currently in service that are powered by Pratt & Whitney 4000 series engines and the action is voluntary and temporary.
2. According to the most recent registry data, the only airlines that operate with the affected engines are in the United States, Japan and South Korea. United is the only US operator with this type of engine in its fleet.
3. Japan's transportation ministry said it has ordered the country's domestic airlines to halt operations of Boeing 777 aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines.
My opinion is incident might not causing panic sell due to:
1. Engine powered by Pratt & Whitney 4000 series, not directly relation to the company operation
2. Suspension is temporary and only few company and country are affected
3. Upon FAA investigation, engine failure might not leads by engine or plane design
4. Share price has tested several time on MA 200 and rebound proven in strong trend
