An altseason can occur several times a year and is known to increase the value of various altcoins greatly. These increases are significant because they take place within a relatively short period of time. Effectively, Bitcoin performs less during altseason, and investors put more capital into altcoins. The value of many altcoins rises again due to this additional demand, giving alts a sort of dominance in market.
