Midway through January, the yield on the benchmark German 10-year Bund fell to below 2.2%, reaching its lowest level in almost a month. This decline in yield followed a global decline in borrowing costs and coincided with signs that inflationary pressures globally are slowing, primarily because of a decline in natural gas prices. The effect is significant on the DAX, which looks headed towards December 2021 highs of 16285.
