During this meeting, Fed policymakers decided to keep interest rates unchanged at a range of 5.25% to 5%, the highest level in about 22 years. In addition, the forecasts given in the Fed's dot plot chart reveal the possibility that the Central Bank will raise interest rates one more time this year, followed by two cuts in 2024.
Since starting to tighten policy in March 2022, the Fed is expected to carry out dozens of interest rate increases, including an increase planned for the end of this year.
