Crypto Shadows

Mainstream is still in the dark as crypto emerges from the shadows. The truth is that the nature of market cycles is generally the same going all the way back to when the Sumerians were selling dark matter fluid to ancient aliens.

It goes like this...
1. The Stealth Phase: Accumulation in the shadows.
2. The Awareness Phase: Institutional investors catch on.
3. The Mania Phase: Media injections to hype it up.
4. The Dump: Shadows/institutional investors taking profits.

Right now it appears we are transitioning from Awareness to Mania phase as CNBC pumps Bitcoin and Grayscale on a regular basis.

Look over here! BTC this Bitcoin that. Micro shares of Tesla!!!
Meanwhile in the shadows, the rest of the crypto sector is quietly being built by the very same people who launched the Dot Com era.

Here is how I ride the coat tails of the shadow people. Bought the breakout. Bought the dip. No sell target just yet.

Same thing here. Bought the breakout and the dip. I imagine another squeeze will happen at the all time high.

Now the latest. Augur is a decentralized 'crowdsourcing intelligence' platform that essentially functions like a casino where degenerate gamblers can bet on outcomes of nearly anything. Right now it appears the token is knocking on the door of resistance and can potentially rip to the top of the channel for an over 100% gain. If it eventually tests the highs that would be a 600% or so move. Downside risk is much less so I'm starting a small position here.

Other than that there are some very interesting projects out there to explore. Updates coming soon.

Long:
BTC, ETH, REP

Note

I trimmed a bit of my ETH position after a 265% gain. I'm still bullish but I want to rebalance from a 60/40 (BTC/ETH) ratio to a 70/30 ratio. In addition I bought a small amount of ATOM and ALGO which both have a 5-6% "staking" yield.

I seemed to have posted the wrong chart of my Augur (REP) trade. The Binance version is still around $20 but I'm using coinbase. I'm surprised how wide the spread is. At the time of writing Augur on coinbase is at about $24.

Trade closed: target reached

Sold REP into this strength for a quick 38% gain.

I imagine a round figure like $30 could cause a pullback with such a large swing. But will look to find value another day to reload.

Selling a bit more ETH here at 1430. I'm waiting for a pullback to move the profits into BTC. Looking at the 22-25k range.

Taking profits again on ETH as we put in a double top on the 4 hr and struggle to break higher. With BTC looking weak it seems the risk of a dump are increasing. Down to 1/4 size position.

I've converted all remaining ETH to BTC.
Long BTC, ATOM, ALGO

I'd look to buy DOT but Coinbase is late to the game.

ALGO is up well over 100% since purchase @ 0.58 on Jan 17, ATOM up 80%. Names that begin with the letter 'A' are actually a widely used marketing strategy of the top dogs.... Apple, Amazon, etc. The mind subconsciously equates A as number 1. If crypto survives over the years, I have no doubts that at least one of these 2 will be among the top. Bought more ALGO yesterday as it recently broke to new highs with strength. Long term hold with a decent 6% staking yield.

I blinked and now ATOM is also now up over 100% from 8.68 cost basis.

Turns out Binance is offering ATOM with a 25% annual staking reward. Hence the recent pump. There is speculation that Grayscale plans on launching an ETF for it as well. Definitely a hold.

Bought a new one, "The Graph" GRT, yesterday. I'm very late to the party on this one, relative to the recent mooning, so only a small starting position. Would like to add on a dip. This particular 'token' is going to be incredibly useful to all cryptos so that dip might never materialize.

I noticed the crypto chatter is a bit euphoric so I pulled my original investment out of both ALGO (195% gain) and ATOM (150% gain). Now it's riding on pure profit. If either of these rise unexpectedly fast from here, I will likely trim it down and roll it over into BTC.

I scaled almost fully back into ALGO below $1.00 but saving last block to buy if theres 1 more dip or on the break out above that level.

Trade active

Bought ETH on this breakout.
As of now I am long(% of holdings) BTC(75%), ETH(15%), ALGO(6%), GRT(4%)

ALGO is now looking stable above the trendline. Should be ripe to rip soon. Maybe $3.50 but will have to monitor momentum.

Lots of volatility, it is what it is. What it also is, is that Coinbase downloads are at record levels since the IPO. The crypto shadows are now being lit up and these dips are gifts. Yielding crypto like ALGO will get attention and this technical base being built at $1.00 looks good.

The foundation is set.

I'm up about 70% on the ETH breakout @ 2,129. The bullish structure is still clearly in play even after this recent dip so it's a hold for me. Some sideways weeks would be good before a continuation higher. If it breaks down a retest of the previous 2018 ATH would be next, and a buy.
