MACD, short for Moving Average Convergence Divergence, is a momentum indicator used in technical analysis to identify potential trend changes in a financial market. It's calculated by comparing two exponential moving averages (EMAs) and is represented by a line, a signal line (which is a moving average of the MACD line), and optionally a histogram.
