This chart says it all.

The biggest destruction of wealth that I have witnessed in my professional life. Bigger than the real estate melt-down in the GFC. Bigger than the S&L crisis and bailout. Bigger than the stock market crashes of 1987, 1990, 2003, 2008, 2020 and 2023.

Keep an eye on Gold is moving today and it would be unusual for both Gold to breakout and for to have a big move unless there is a large move out of risk-based assets.

Bonds have traded back down as both parties have given spending plans that worry the market about new supply. One party will win and then the market can vote. So, expect bigger moves after the Nov 5th election.
