Rule of 72

Updated
Just an observation, not a projection or advice.

As a young investor, I have been unsurprisingly watching this hot stock.

Just exploring the tools on this website and looking at a logarithmic view I noticed the most recent rally is very similar growth percentage-wise to the initial long rally almost 10 years ago. Net volume on the monthly is just about where it reached back then. Only one day into this month so plenty of time for it to turn green (or not, I have absolutely no idea).

I've been thinking about the fact that this stock moved sideways for so long. So I drew a line from day 1 to today and tried to find a way to measure that. Breaking it up into two 5 year segments, we see price increase 10x. So that's 2x each year. According to the rule of 72, it takes 72% yoy to double every year. I probably butchered the math on that but if thats even somewhere in the ballpark that's a neat observation whatever its worth.
