“If longer-term rates remain elevated due to higher term premiums, there may be less need to raise the Fed funds rate,” Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan said.

Fed Vice Chairman Philip Jefferson said the central bank will need to "proceed carefully" given the recent rise in yields. Implied future valuations of the likelihood that the Fed will raise interest rates again this year fell from above 40% last week to around 26% on Monday.

“Several other officials, including Fed Governor Christopher Waller, are expected to speak today,” said CBA strategist Carol Kong. Markets will be closely watching their comments for further clues about the (Fed's) policy path.”
