ZAR is a political play. Ever since it became clear that the ANC is going to replace Zuma well before the 2019 general election, the Rand has gained value. However I do not believe that this trend will continue in the long term. Rich people who have missed to move their money out of the country will now take advantage of the improved exchange rate.
Ramaphosa has just passed a change to the constitution allowing to redistribute land to black people without compensating current farmers. Malema continues to openly call to murder white farmers and the UN does nothing.
Kenya has slowly but surely gone down the drain ever since they pushed out the white farmers. Zimbabwe dropped off a cliff and could only survive by leasing the farms back to white farmers (former president Mugabe owns 21 farms partially leased back to white farmers). Swaziland is barely surviving ever since the mining of gold and asbestos stopped and white people moved out. They are now in progress to reopen the asbestos mines.
