Ukraine just bombed Russia's fighter jets in which Zelensky call a well coordinated plan that took one years since month to carry out. Russia being the third largest oil producer is likely to defend their most important resource oil companies which might limit oil production in the short term. However Russia is likely going to respond with equal force if not more which will then disrupt trades routes therefore cutting oil global supply. A shock supply will lead to higher oil prices. Technical analysis also supports these thesis by current prices being above moving averages however a pullback before prices ascend is imminent.
