Beyond Technical Analysis
Rates Obsession - a pro interest rates set-up on TradingView Interest rate pricing has a huge effect across many financial markets at present – the correlation between short-term rates, rates volatility and the USD is certainly evident.
However, with such a big window for increased volatility in interest rates pricing, as traders try and price the prospect of a 25bp or 50bp hike at the 22 March FOMC, as well as peak fed funds pricing, could increased pricing result in a big move in the USD and NAS100?
In the video, we look at how we can look at the fed funds curve and understand ‘what is priced in’ – we look at how to measure the degree of cuts priced in for a specific period of time, and how to look at implied volatility in bond markets – and, why it is important for FX and index traders?
Interest rates and short-term US Treasury bonds are the first derivative and so many markets take their direction from these inputs - hopefully, this gives some understanding of how you can use TradingView more effectively to assess these inputs.
Strategy development. Samples of my strategies I use. Here is a brief description of some my strategies I use. Im still in the development phases. So please dont blindly follow what I do. Test them to see if they work for you. I dont mind sharing publicly because it helps me too with my psychology and overtrading. I dont want to look like a fool so I try to pick only the clearest setup. Thanks guys.
MENT SPY DayTrader Page Update (2-22-23)I've been working on the TT-3MACD PineScript update for about 4+ days.
It seems every time I make a breakthrough, there is more to attempt to build into it.
PineScipt seems pretty cool so far. Documentation is great - but it is a process of learning how the engine processes things.
My goal is to build a TEACHABLE solution for my followers - allowing them to make their own decisions based on my research and other strategies.
Ideally - it is about teaching others when and how to trust their own intuitions.
This video update shows you the FOUR components of my strategy so far:
- The TT-3MACD Strategy (including entries/targets/reversals) - Running on a Heiken-Ashi chart
- The Standard Candlestick chart - running the Linear Regression tool
- The 3D Wave indicator
- The Donchian Ribbon Indicator.
Using these in combination with Fibonacci price theory (Higher Highs/Lows in an UPTREND - Lower Highs/Lows in a DOWNTREND) - should be just about everything any SPY Daytrader could want to learn to get started.
It really is THIS SIMPLE.
The only other thing you need to learn is position sizing techniques. In other words, when to be more aggressive and when to be patient (trading smaller position sizes).
Follow my research and let's see if we can get all of my followers into a better place to start profiting from SPY price swings.
I will post another update/video when I publish the MENT TT-3MACD strategy for all to use.

Take any pivot on the hourly chart and count 24 bars/hours away to get a projection point of where the market can turn or speed up/slow down the momentum of the trend.

Just one of the many ways to "predict" the market/algo.
SPY Cycle Patterns: Resolving volatility into March 2023This example video will help you understand how I use my predictive SPY Cycle Patterns in combination with traditional TA (Fibonacci and others) to prepare/plan for GAPS, trends, and opportunities for trading through the week.
I'm a strong believer that you don't need to trade every minor trend. Taking 2~4 good trades a week across one or two symbols is all that is required to be able to generate 50% to 100% profit every week (using options).
Just last week one of my friends used my SPY Cycle Patterns (and his own skills) to make over 700% ROI. It does happen.
Watch this video. Next week will be very volatile in my opinion. Once we clear the upper resistance level, we should continue to trend up to $435 or higher.
The burst of volatility will likely make for great trade setups - if you know what you are doing.

Strategy Coding E05: Risk Management (Part 1)This is a deep dive into the concepts surrounding "Risk Management" and how to realistically model managing risk.
We will discuss:
Risk Units
Scaling in to positions at a one third risk unit increments
Raising stops
Taking profits
Closing/exiting the position.
SPY Example Setup For DaytradersHere is an example dual-chart setup for SPY daytraders.
I set this up to help my followers understand how to perceive price action as we attempt to transition through the $405 SPY Support level.
If my analysis is correct, we'll see a fairly strong reversion (upside) price trend as long as the $404~405 level holds.
This chart includes a number of TradingView PUBLIC SCRIPTS and a dual-chart layout.
Both Heiken-Ashi and traditional Candlestick charts are used.

How to create simple web-hook to send alerts to TelegramHello Traders,
In this video, I have demonstrated how to create a simple web-hook which can send your Tradingview alerts to Telegram channel or group for zero cost.
⬜ Tools Used
▶ Telegram Messenger
▶ Replit - Cloud platform for hosting small programs
▶ Postman - To test web-hooks before going live (Optional)
▶ Cronjob - To set health-check and keep bot alive
⬜ Steps
▶ Create Telegram Bot
Find BotFather and issue command /newbot
Provide bot name
Provide bot username - which should be unique and end with _bot
Once bot is created, you will get a message with token access key in it. Store the token access key.
▶ Prepare Telegram Channel
Create new telegram channel
Add the bot @username_to_id_bot to it as admin and issue /start to find chat id
Store the chat id and dismiss @username_to_id_bot from channel
Find the bot created in previous step using bot username and add it to channel as admin
▶ Setup replit
Create a free Replit account if you do not have it already.
Fork the repl - Tradingview-Telegram-Bot to your space and give a name of your choice.
Set environment variables - TOKEN and CHANNEL which are acquired from previous steps.
Run the REPL
▶ Test with postman
Use the URL on repl and create web-hook post request URL by adding /webhook to it.
Create post request on postman and send it.
You can see that messages sent via postman appearing in your telegram channel.
append ?jsonRequest=true if you are using json output from alerts.
Json request example:
▶ Set alerts from tradingview to web-hook
Use web-hook option and enter the webhook tested from postman in the web-hook URL
And that's all, the webhook for Telegram Alerts is ready!!
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed the video and learned from it :)
PS: I have made use of extracts from the open github repo: github.com
Always factor in the possibility of the market’s developmentHello Traders:
First educational video since I went away 8 months ago :)
This topic has been brought up many times, and I wanted to prepare this video for those who are still struggling with the concept of possibility in the market.
Many inconsistent traders, when taking losses, often look at their strategy as the reason why the losses occurred.
They often fail to see that the real problem often lies with emotion, psychology, risk:reward, rather than strategy.
A good rule of thumb when approaching the market is to have a clear mind and expect anything can happen, regardless of technical analysis.
That means, even if a certain setup is developing, there is still probability that you will take a loss after entering. No strategy can give you 100% win rate.
No matter how clean the setup is, or how it mimics the past price action or setups, the market can still not go with what you wish it to go.
So, when we are waiting for a setup to happen before taking the trade, try to think on the other side as well.
If you are looking for a long setup, also think about whether there is a possibility of a sell, and does sell also make sense.
As an example, here on USDJPY, I have seen traders share their bullish view and bias.
Certainly nothing wrong to follow through with your own view and forecast, however, I would suggest to also look into the possibility of a sell potential. Does the sell potential also make sense ?
What if both bullish and bearish outlook exist ? then does it make sense to execute the trade ?
Stay cautious of a PEAK/TOP in the markets today. My SPY Cycle Patterns suggest the markets will establish a PEAK/TOP today - then trend downward.
I created this video to help my followers stay aware of the short-term nature of price in a reactionary price trend - like today.
If you are chasing this rally, stay very cautious of risks related to my SPY cycle patterns. Overall, I expect the markets to peak, stall, then trend downward over the next 48 hours.
Take quick trades with targeted profit targets. This is not a friendly market uptrend in my opinion.
I believe the $408 level is a likely downside price target for the SPY by Thursday.

Don't trust stock charts aloneValuation change my life. I was blind and now I see. not kidding.
I love technical analysis. I love it more when combined with valuation.
Stocks are actual businesses. Charts only track transactions. its like receipts in the trash outside the store :D
Warren Buffett used to collect bottle caps as a kid. Then would sort them to find out what drinks were most popular. He sold Coca Colas from his grandfathers grocery store based on this info and also later in life became a Coke Stock investor.
so what?
Maybe not you, but definitely me, Ive made the mistake of JUST LOOKING AT CHARTS and forgetting whats behind the charts. Actual businesses, people, and world governments acting out their motivations, resulting in what we see in the charts.
There is so much more information, that when combined with charts, makes for better decisions.
Shout out to trading view. Trading view allows for make fundamental data easy to overlay onto charts. gamechanger!
Macro/fed, accounting fundamentals, charts/trends, social sentiment/behavior, options pricing, all of this and more is out there for investors to consider.
Any who.
The video is about the market multiple on earnings which results in prices. Thats what prices are. Prices are a derivative on business earnings. Earning x multiple = price.
When I was noob young monkey, I wish I knew all of these concepts. So here I am trying to share.
Hope you dig it.
Cheers!
See FAILURE DIFFRENT!!Hey God bless you guys! i wanted to come and talk about failure in this i broke down why its important to have important goals whenever you trade and not only focus on the money and its important to switch your mind to see failure as a growing moment not a quitting moment i know this video is going to bless you i hope you enjoy it and you take notes!!
My Backtesting Results on NZDCHFHolding trades is what I want to get better at and backtesting is going to help me do it.
I've backtested NZDCHF today and found that it was a remarkable session.
I was able to enter 4 trades in the span of 3 months gaining over what would have been 15% from the trades, but one trade hit my break even point so I gained around 12% from my trades.
I used the monthly, weekly, and daily timeframes with most of my entries coming from the daily timeframe.
I used my own strategy known as TMP. It stands for Trend, Market Structure, Price Action(or, pending orders).
I identify the trend first, then set my estimation zone, then place my pending order. In that order, thats it.
I don't use support and resistance, trend lines, or indicators for the most part. I like using price action. Its my preference that has changed throughout my trading career.
I've noticed I a few reasons why I don't enter my best setups are due it
1) Money trauma( family had poor money management)
2) Time limit( pressure from showing results)
To get over those, I have set parameters to take partials, move my trades to break even, and set pending orders to eliminate myself not entering my own trades.
This helps in the long run and has helped since collecting data on myself since the start of me using prop firms.
I can only pray that through my backtesting and trading journey, this can help you too.
Please let me know if you have questions regarding my backtesting or found something unique that helped you.
Safe trading❤️
What I've learned after backtesting So, I love backtesting. Recently I've found my self in a 3% drawdown and needed to figure out what the cause of it was and trading at this moment won't give me that answer.
So, I decided to backtest.
Here is what I found:
1. I'm overtrading my system
I am a proud swing trader who got back into scalping the market in December 2022. It was mot my idea, but I thought I could handle it. I started out great, but then the market reminded me why I left the lower timeframes.
2. I'm not holding my trades long enough. Thanks Prop Firms!
Since joining a prop firm my mind has been changed to holding trades for less time than I normally would. I don't mind holding trades for weeks or months, but prop firms give you time limits during evaluation periods.
That was and still is a huge adjustment for me. Being a swing trader means I have to let my profits run. So, now, I've found a prop firm that will allow me to hold my trades with no time limits.
3. Not holding trades to my weekly and monthly targets.
I need to see past my daily targets. Normally my daily risk to rewards are between 1:1 and 1:2. I'm in drawdown because I'm not recovering from my losses with these risk to rewards.
So now, I'm only taking trades with RR over 1:2 and better. This way I'm trading less, holding longer(sometimes), and getting the best bank for my buck.
Backtesting helped me see my mistakes and how to correct them. This is called fixing your strategy.
Notice how I'm not changing my strategy. I'm tweaking my strategy to fit my mental capacity and trading style.
If you find you're in a drawdown and can't see, stop trading and backtest what you're currently doing and find a way to stop the behavior thats causing your drawdown. Then, stop doing that particular thing so you can see better results.
I pray this has helped you.

Learning to stay ahead of market trends - 2023 & BeyondFollow my research. Learn why I expect 2023 to be a very difficult year for active traders and how you can avoid all the risks by modifying your capital allocation levels RIGHT NOW.
You don't have to stand in front of a freight train or try to force trades when they are not opportunistic. You could just wait for the better setup in July/Aug 2023 and ride out Wave-3.
Do you want to gain profits or just try to gamble your capital away?
Sure, if you are a day trader, you may be able to trade some of the bigger price swings over the next 5+ months. But, most of the price action is going to be in ETFs and select US stock sectors.
Learn to position your trades to capitalize when opportunities are the RICHEST for success. Wave-1 has nearly ended. You are trying to catch the last 5% to 7%+ of an uptrend before the US markets will slide into a Wave-2 correction.
Are you sure you want to risk a boatload of capital at the end of Wave-1 right now?
Knowing when to trade is important. Knowing when NOT to trade is even more important.

Dont get ripped off and caught up in the hype, use math and valuation to price the reward and risk in a balanced logical way.
The legends of investing have given us they formulas through lifetimes of trial and error. We just need to apply them.

Stick to the valuation math principles and make better logic decisions in these uncertain markets.
