CRSP: Big orrection after the next rally, but buy-the-dip.I believe that CRSP (Crispr Therapeutics) is about to undergo a severe correction soon.
I scaled into this stock during the latter part of 2022 and the first part of 2023 and it is up nearly 70% and has generated about 40% of pure alpha for me relative to the SPX.
So this has been an amazing performer for my total portfolio.
I believe this run may be nearing a pullback and I expect the correction to be a very severe one.
My suggestion is that this will form a triple-bottom/inverse head-and-shoulders pattern because this will be a subwave 2 correction and in theory, it should not overthrow the recent low by very much.
I think the post-correction rally will be sizeable (it'll be a macro Wave 3) and the catalyst for this rally will be the steady trend of slowly improving earnings that they have demonstrated over the past year.
(3 successive quarters of positive earnings calls - this has not been achieved since 2017)
So, in essence, presuming nothing else changes, I believe we should buy the next dip for a significant Wave 3 rally that will exceed the all-time highs.
In the meantime, expect lots of volatility, if you don't have the stomach for taking drawdowns or losses in the interim, you may want to sell the next rally so that you can buy back in. I will probably pursue this course of action myself purely as a matter of greed to preserve the alpha I have managed to capture.
Happy biotech trading!

CRSP ANALYSISCRSP broke its trend line to the downside coming out of a head and shoulder pattern, has a bullish regular divergence. There is chance to broke to the next level of $80 where it has found resistance in the past, but divergence indicates that it probably continue to consolidating and then broke to the upside. It has found resistance at these levels in the past more then 3 times which indicates is a strong level of resistance. It's sitting at the golden zone level at the fibonacci, usually a good point for stocks to turn over. I hope it is helpful to someone. Not financial advice, thanks for the feedback!
CRSP short trade updates on weekly chartHere is my follow up update on original CRSP swing short trade idea I put up on January 14th.
On this post, I am zooming out to weekly chart, looking at longer time frame to capture cyclical trends.
Going back all the way to 2017 inception period, the higher than average volatilities are pretty easy to notice. It moves up really fast but also coming down. Every single time it has entered bear market or the sell signal is triggered, it has corrected well into double digit, easily averaging over 50%. In addition, RSI being overbought and high level PPO bearish cross overs are clear indication to trend reversal as well.
Lastly, the week is too young still to comment yet but as of the end of today's session, it has taken down the up trend line as well on the weekly chart. There are plenty of time left in the week to recover the trend line but we shall see. It would be bullish if it can snap back above by the end of this week. I do not think CRSP will drop to my potential max targets without decent double digit correction in SPY and QQQ.
I will comment on this post after the Friday close to see where it will be by then.
If anyone has any thoughts either bullish or bearish, I would love to hear from you. Also, if you find it interesting, please follow me here.
Have a good trade everyone,
T.
Crispr - DNA/Gene editing Technical Analysis
Since early December, we have had over a dozen tails on the purple up-trend arrow drawn in.
The 50sma is now coming into play, as a break below that, could take us another 20% down to the 100sma.
An appropriate level to exit the trade then, would be below the 50sma.
There also horizontal support as we fill the gap.
Important Note:
Earnings are on February 10th; so be aware of this if you plan to enter the trade.
Opinion
I believe this company is the future of gene editing.
Check out a documentary of the company on Netflix called Human Nature.
*It is more about how Crispr (DNA modification) works, than how the company makes money.
Enjoy your weekend,

CRSP short trade updated chartHere is the updated chart on CRSP short trade I posted on January 14th. It's been down 23% since the date it was posted. So far so good. First target was hit today and managed to keep above as I have expected. I expect more downside in days to come. XBI sector can break down anytime too now. Literally one red day will do. My next target is the bottom of the channel colored yellow. Once the selling gets momentum, it will be pretty swift downward move. Definitely can't fall a sleep behind the wheel right now in this market.
Have a good trades everyone,
T.
Is CRSP going to "technically" break the bear trend this weekIn my previous post on #CRISPR I talked about the Green upward sloping trendline & how every time CRSPR has traded on or below it since May 2017 we've seen parabolic action.
I don't want to say I told you so, but we've seen some parabolic action.
To my surprise, the parabolic movement came the news of Vertex upfront payment of $175 million upfront payment. Specifically, Vertex gets worldwide rights for CRISPR/Cas9 technology along with other items such as AAV vectors for DMD and DM1. This deal totals just about $1 billion when you factor in all milestone payments for these programs, plus royalties.
Moving on to the chart now..
It appears as though CRSP is about to "technically" breakout of the bear trend which started in May 2018 after reaching ATH's.
The blue downward sloping trendlines are the attached to the swing highs, and one has already been broken to the upside, which could be considered the first real confirmation of a trend reversal. Once the second blue downward sloping trendline is broken to the upside CRSP is "technically" out of the bear trend, IMO.
Time will tell per usual.
CRISPR Gene editing. Want your kids to have eagle wings? FUTURETechnical breakdown of CRISPR gene editing with ya boy Meteor Hammer,
First off, This technology really will change the future and these are the pioneers. could potentially end all disease and cure cancer, think about it... Amazing and spooky shit ladies and gentlemen.
This chart looks great. Price just broke through a critical line, and re-entered what could prove to be a falling wedge continuation pattern. watch for the breakout so we could head to $60.00 and beyond!
Get money and change the world? shiiiiiiiit.
Love,
SK
CRSPR price actionThe uprise is overheated an is loosing momentum. One more push to the upside (a wave b of the present abc correction) will complete the "three pushes " series, in which the upthrust above the upper Keltner channel border decreases continuously. Afterwards, a fall to the lowest trendline is possible. After that, a sharp ascent to the highest trendline is likely.
NTLA establishing new support ~16.25?NTLA rejected off the 17 level and retested high 15s as expected but looks like it's establishing a new support level around 16.25...If so, a couple hundred of my shares will be called away next Friday at 15.78 avg. so I'm waiting for next nice red opportunity to sell more 15 puts on this to keep reducing avg. cost. While I'm long CRSPR stocks (NTLA, EDIT & CRSP), I'm concerned about NTLA's recent filing suggesting they may issue secondary so will just keep selling puts & calls to avg. down until it falls < 12 again which is when I'll plan to load up near my full desired position amount. If you're looking for first entry, sell the 15 puts and collect cash til you get assigned shares:)
NTLA sitting at 17.28 resistance, will it break thru or to 15s?NTLA has been flying through resistance levels from oversold conditions and looks like it's testing 17.28 resistance to establish it as support. If it closes above, likely going higher - if it rejects off of 17.28 then likely retest of high 15s before re-testing 17s. Apart from ongoing patent battles, this company was hit by a scientific paper that made unfounded claims against their gene editing tech CRSPR, which prompted a panic sell. Yet another paper discrediting the previous negative article was released today, which explains the ~6% jump. This is a super undervalued company with no debt. Either way, I sold some calls against part of my holding since they filed forms which suggest they may be planning a secondary. Waiting for a nice red day to sell more puts. Buy and hold long with co-CRSPR-patent holders EDIT & CRSP.
EDIT off the bounce on low volume.Nice support level at $20
Filled Gap up and Gap down.
If decent trading volume, long term investors or proponents to CAS-9 research will buy in at these support levels.
CRISPR got upgraded.
EDITAS holds patents that relate to the use of CRISPR-Cas9 in the cells of humans and other eukaryotes, while the UC Berkeley, Crispr, patents cover use of the gene-editing approach more generally.
Licensing plays from one company to the other. No profit in the near term. Bump in stock off Crispr viral news.
