The Sinking US Dollar and Lifeless Bitcoin: What's Next?Discussion On The Relationship Between US Dollar and US-Dollar-Backed Assets and Bitcoin.
As of 19th July 2023, in the markets:
1: US Dollar Decline
The US dollar, the official currency of the United States of America, is currently facing a decline in the markets. It is not only the official currency of the United States but is also widely used as a medium of exchange in international trade and financial transactions.
2: Hypothesis and US-Dollar-Backed Assets
The hypothesis suggests that during the US dollar decline, US-dollar-backed assets might experience support or even go up. US-dollar-backed assets are investments tied to the value of the US dollar and can provide stability by reducing currency risk.
3: Examples of US-Dollar-Backed Assets
US-dollar-backed assets include US Treasury Bonds, Money Market Funds, and certificates of deposit (CDs). These assets indirectly expose investors to the US dollar. As the US economy strengthens, the value of these assets in dollar terms is expected to be higher.
4: Stablecoin and Cryptocurrency
Stablecoins like USDT, which are backed by the value of the US dollar, maintain a similar relationship between USDT and Bitcoin as the US dollar and US-dollar-backed assets. Stablecoins play a role in the relationship between the US dollar price and US-dollar-backed assets, which can be complex and vary depending on market conditions.
5: Reasons for US-Dollar-Backed Assets Going Up
A weaker US dollar increases demand for US-dollar-backed assets from investors in other currencies, leading to higher prices. Historical examples, such as the 2008 Financial Crisis, the Dot-com Bubble, and the Post-9/11 Period, support the hypothesis of US-dollar-backed assets going up during a decline in the US dollar.
6: Bitcoin's Relationship with the US Dollar
Historically, Bitcoin has shown an inverse correlation with the US dollar. When the US dollar rallies, Bitcoin tends to decline. A hypothesis suggests that a declining US dollar should lead to a rally in Bitcoin, but currently, this is not observed in the markets.
7: Potential Reasons for Bitcoin's Behavior
Bitcoin's price is influenced by various factors beyond the US dollar, including supply and demand dynamics related to anticipated halving in April 2024 and miners sell-off pressure and regulatory developments with SEC and ETFs. Bitcoin is considered a riskier investment, and factors like regulatory concerns or market sentiment can dampen demand for Bitcoin despite a weakening US dollar. Or is it a simple lagging factor?
Would like to open the topic up for a discussion to explore this in more detail. What are your thoughts on why we are not seeing a rally in BTC as the US Dollar is tanking?
QNT Chart Discussion Let's have a chat! What do you think is going to happen next? Currently in the biggest Tug Of War between Bulls and Bears! We got the 200 and 50 MA about to cross and a short signal. Very minimal movement overall! We got the MACD slightly running overlapped! We got the RSI as neutral!
QNT/USDT 4 Hour Chart for anyone wondering.
Would love to hear your thoughts! 🙂
WHAT TYPE OF ENTRIES DO YOU PREFER?Hey, traders, we just wanted to share this as an "Experience" thread, where everybody can share their input on types of entries they make. As depicted in the chart above, there are mainly two types of entries when it comes to patience level and strategy; however, we would totally love to hear your unique ways of executing the trade. Let's learn and earn together!
FTX CEO weighs in on Bitcoin market outlook amid Ukraine crisisBitcoin’s correlation with the U.S. equity market could be one reason for its current decline, but Eastern European money destabilization could push BTC as a “crisis” hedge.
The world woke up to a “sea of red” that was not necessarily limited to the financial markets, as Russia declared war on Ukraine early Thursday.
The traditional financial markets along with the crypto markets have been sliding bearishly for the past week and saw a rapid decline early on Thursday. Apart from crude oil prices, which jumped to an eight-year high above $100, the majority of stocks has lost over 5%.
The Russian invasion on Thursday triggered the bears leading to a $500-billion crypto market sell-off, where the majority of the cryptocurrencies lost critical support to trade at a three-month low. The crypto market capitalization saw a 10% decline during early morning Asian trading hours, falling below the $1.5-trillion mark.
Bitcoin (BTC) is considered an inflation hedge, and many expected its price to show resilience at a time of crisis. However, Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of global derivative and spot crypto exchange FTX, believes BTC’s decline was no surprise.
PLTR - General Strategy Discussion
To be clear, this is a chart for PLTR but the general conversation could apply to any swing trade. Also, I'm not looking for advice on my PLTR play, just curious to hear other peoples perspectives and strategies.
My double bottom PLTR play is looking like it could be heading in the right direction (still couldn't fall apart...). If the price hits the neckline, I'd be at a 30% gain. That's a damn good return for a few weeks in a swing play. BUT... if the neck line breaks and the W finishes... I could be looking anywhere from 60-70% gains.
What do you all do when you're in a situation where your play isn't finished, but you already have a very good return. Getting greedy can be dangerous... but sticking to your gut on a call isn't a bad thing either. Just looking for personal opinions and strategies (again not specific to PLTR or my play).
Possible pattern in the overall marketThis is purely hypothetical. It appears a pattern has formed in terms of periods of heavy growth and periods of stalling growth. I was able to chart all 3 majors indices in aggregate thanks to @boji1 's post:
What do you all think? Do you think the market will be choppy all year or do you think this apparent pattern will continue and we have another leg higher?
Based on the last two cycles, the average return was 11.9% from the start of the growth period to the next rest period. Could see a 12% bounce back in the next 2 months.
Time to declare the greatest MACD OF ALL! HELP ME CHOOSE!OK. LETS TALK ABOUT THIS MACD INDICATOR.... WHICH ONE THOUGH? (moving average convergence and divergence indicator) is a popular indicator. Pretty obvious. It does many things. Plots a histogram that works well for divergences and show changing comparisons. offer crossing signals, and even has its own levels or structures to filter trades on it. It IS a lagging indicator... so it will never be perfect on its own. As I looked for one to adapt to a new strategy I am making... I found that many others MUST agree! Here are 12 different variations of MACD. For the most part, they all have massive views and likes on trading views. And for something as universal and loved as the MACD I have to say... there can be a lot of small and big variances in the signals, how it is used, what it is used for.
So Today I want to begin a discussion that I hope all of tradingview members will join me in. In declaring among these or another if you have one.... 5 titles! we will do it by vote and your basic explanation if you have a reason. and you can just pick one of the 5 titles. However, this Posts goal is to determine THESES TITLES
1. Which is the KING of all the MACD here? (please share your reasons and why you think so for any category)
2 . Which is the BEST MACD for small time frames signals and entries for scalping (no greater than 1 hour)
3. Which is the BEST MACD for Swing Trading? 4hour -daily timeframes?
4. Which is the BEST MACD for finding DIVERGENCES?
5. Which MACD has the BEST HISTOGRAM
These indicators will be CROWNED (KING D) (SCALP D) (SWING D) (DIV D) (HISTO D) And for your time and participation in this quest. later on down the road when our winners are clear perhaps I can Update some of them to include self plotting divergences and maybe oscillation trendlines so that those winners are better than ever.
SO LETS GET RIGHT TO IT! Which MACD? WHY? FOR WHAT? TOSS YOUR HATS AND VOTES OR THOUGHTS INTO COMMENTS AND DISCOVERY SOME OF THESE COOL INDICATORS IF YOU HAVE YET TO. FEEL FREE TO HAVE OPEN DISCUSSION IN THE COMMENTS
YOUR CANDIDATES.
MACD - X A better macd from @dgtrd (this macd has slightly different calculations and a ton of extra added features which probably all needs to be looked at to be judged
MACZ VWAP from @LazyBear (this macd uses zscore and implements vwap usage. has smoothing for choppy factor and perhaps good entries but maybe it varies as well. should take a look)
Stick Line macd from @blackcat1402 (newer addition and has interesting behavior that actually gives warnings for when reverses cross or signals may arise)
MACDAS from @KivancOzbilgic THOMAS ASPRAY'S MACD by KIVANC (based on MACD HISTOGRAM'S 9 period EMA signal line)
4C 4 color macd from @vkno422 (this is a strict histogram macd that features for 4 different colors and a strategy for how to treat them_
OBV MACD indicator from @RafaelZioni (this is a linear macd that uses its base signal from the OBV for improving entry. considerations can be made for if it keeps with trades or exits them at the best time. it is nice with pivot labels signals also included in the indicator)
ADVANCED PPO (price percentage ocsilator) from @TheLark (this is an alternative that is used in a similar fashion to macD. and inverse sort of. It is the Laguerre ppo. while less known some consider it a macd improvement)
MACD DEMA from @ToFFF (macd worked with double exponential moving average)
DOUBLE MACD buy sell from @Dreadblitz (this double setting combo of macd won a competition and the poster goes into detail on it and shares video link about it)
IMPULSE MACD from @LazyBear (this histogram macd doesn't have crosses but a completely different method and way to view and enter price using macd)
STC indicator a better macd from @shayankm (this improved entry method turns the macd into a similar inverse fisher looking binary signal view. try it out to see your thoughts)
SuperSmoothedMacd for crypto (and stocks) from @KivancOzbilgic (he has made both smoothed adjusted macd for crypto and stocks. (I will post 1other can be found) it is up to user to decide if is indeed better than the other macd choices for crypto and stocks in the end)
Customizable macd for any timeframe+ from @ChrisMoody (a must-have inclusion as one of the first big and versatile macd indicators on trading view. with a lot of functionality. It should be discovered if some of the newer things offer different factors or abilities that this one can be customized with)

XAUUSD DAILYMy take on friday, IMO will be bit more action today nothing drastic until next week though.
LDN should bring it up to atleast the 1820s if it breaks through we could be look at 1836-1850 during before it comes back down, but IMO this scenario will only happen if LDN can bring it up above 1820, if not back to 1808 we come if this zone is broken possibly will reach 1800 before the end.
Drop your opinions on what your thoughts are!!!
XAUUSD 25/11/20 IDEAIMO if during LDN gold breaks 1800, could go as low as 1770ish if it doesn't and breaks out back above 1813-1816 i reckon it will then begin the uptrend but may not have enough power to plough through all the resistance levels still has potential though, ill be keeping an eye on 1826, 1845, and 1880 and if it manages all those 1900s en route...
Drop your thoughts and any advice you may have!!!
Can DXY (US-DOLLAR-INDEX) continue the breakout?Hey tradomaniacs,
technically we see a nice breakout of US-DOLLAR out of the previous Flag-Pattern.
This is usually a trend-continuation-sign....but obiously all news-driven due to the missing stimulus.
Can DXY continue the breakout? What do you think?
TRUMP-TWEET will probably tell. ;-D
LEAVE A LIKE AND A COMMENT - I appreciate every support! =)

AAPL Pattern? I don't know you tell me. Price target $134Looks like AAPL is still bullish after catching support on the at 131.20, bouncing from one of the SMA's on one of the minute intervals, one of the fib intervals comprising the big movement down earlier today. I don't see a descending triangle or anyway to confirm that this is a bear pennant. It's also difficult to say if we have an inverted head and shoulders.
Price target 134 after move up. Need S&P and NQ to hold position or advance upward. Stops at 128.
Ascending triangle still. Price action tighteningCool rally from lows yesterday after AMZN found support at 3080-ish. My previous belief that support would hold at 3105 was shattered by that tech sell-off. Are we going to continue selling-off on tech after this bullish day? Who knows, but lots of press on Bezos, a record ER beat, and ATH's in recent history makes me believe if NQ stays bullish AMZN will run. Only thing that keeps bullish sentiment down on AMZN is the notion that new and up and coming competition might make a dent.
AMZN perhaps to new highs after finding support again. I am seeing the range at which AMZN trades consolidate and trade above the 50% on the Fibonacci retracement. The last week, AMZN has bounced up from 3105-3110 range with little difficulty. I have seen speculation as to whether we have had a cup n handle form and that I am not sure about, but the curved line below recent price movement within the ascending triangle looks like strong support. It could even be that the nadir of that movement forming the arc is the head in an inverse head and shoulders.
2 period RSI is curling and may cross on the shorter leg the longer leg.
Let me know what you think.
