Falsebreakout

BTCUSDT breaking below falling wedge right into support level.It's been a tough couple of weeks trying to push bullish scenarios but this is normal when markets go sideways. Sideways or trading ranges have momentum too so it will keep doing the same until it ceases to do the same. Right now, we re at the bottom of a falling wedge and price is breaking below trend line support. A false break here could propel the price higher. This setup is one of my favorite setups as it usually gives good RR (if it works). I do think we have a bunch of buyers waiting at around 42k which is the breakout level of the 08-FEB strong breakout. Market may need to to re-test that level soon, which will coincide with a potential false break setup... Not trading advice.

False Breakout Patterns False-breakouts are exactly what they sound like: a breakout that failed to continue beyond a level, resulting in a ‘false’ breakout of that level. False breakout patterns are one of the most important price action trading patterns to learn, because a false-break is often a very strong clue that price might be changing direction or that a trend might be resuming soon. A false-break of a level can be thought of as a ‘deception’ by the market, because it looks like price will breakout but then it quickly reverses, deceiving all those who took the ‘bait’ of the breakout. It’s often the case that amateurs will enter what looks like an ‘obvious’ breakout and then the professional’s will push the market back the other way As a price action trader, you want to learn how to use false breakouts to your advantage, rather than falling victim to them. Here are two clear examples of false breakouts above and below key levels. Note that false breakouts can take different forms. Sometimes a false break will occur with a pin bar pattern or a fakey pattern as the false break, and sometime not A false breakout is essentially a ‘contrarian’ move in the market that ‘flushes’ out those traders who may have entered on emotion, rather than logic and forward thinking. Generally speaking, a false-break is happens because amateur traders or those with ‘weak hands’ in the market will tend to enter the market only when it ‘feels safe’ to do so. This means, they tend to enter when a market is already quite extended in one direction (and it’s about ready to retrace) or they try to ‘predict’ a breakout from a key support or resistance level too early. Professional traders watch for these missteps by the amateurs, and the end result is a very good entry for them with a tight stop loss and huge risk reward potential. It takes discipline and a bit of ‘gut feel’ to know when a false-break is likely to occur, and you can never really know ‘for sure’ until after one has formed. The important thing, is to know what they look like and how to trade them, which we will discuss next…

VETETH bullish reversal scenario could be in play now...Reversal trades are inherently low probability but they offer the best risk-rewards so we always hunt for them. That said, the VETETH pair is looking better in this regard: 1. Market has rejected the low for at least 4 days in a row now. 2. Today's candle opened at a higher low 3. Today's candle is now a big bull candle with price back inside the descending wedge/channel False breaks are great setups to trade against the direction of the breakout so people who bought that breakout are now in profit (if they managed to hold). Reasonable target for such a trade is the resistance trend line of the descending wedge/channel. We just need to see if this move back into the consolidation will be confirmed by a daily close. The ultimate scenario is a breakout above this descending wedge so that is the big bet and we are looking at this false break as the possible bottom for VETETH this year! We all know ETH will probably flip BTC so the perfect scenario for VET holders would be this reversal to happen! :) Let's wait and see!

EHTH Intrinsic Value IdeaI had previously published on EHTH while it was in a symmetrical triangle formation. There was a brief false breakout at the end of January with the price going as high as 93. This was short lived however as it fell back below the initial resistance line and then rapidly dropped all the way down to $48 following a downgraded price target from RBC Capital. Despite the negative report and subsequent steep drop in price I still believe EHTH is a fundamentally strong company that will continue its steady/solid growth. I had previously set a $115 price target on EHTH and still believe this target can be justified however lets consider the possibility that I was simply just off in my valuation. I came to this $115 target using an already conservative 30% margin of error in my calculations. If we took those same calculations and used a very conservative 50% margin of error instead of 30%, our min price target would still be $82. I believe at this current price level there is some great value here.
