HACK
XRP: Chris Larsen Wallet Hack... or STAGED Dump?📉Hi Traders, Investors and Speculators of Charts📈
Yesterday, news came out that a huge XRP wallet has been hacked, stealing $112 million worth of XRP. According to information currently available, the hack was as a result of compromised security keys. It turned out to be the wallet of none other than tech-giant Chris Larsen, Ripple Co-founder. (suspicious already?🤔 let's dive in...)
One of many strange incidents surrounding this hack is that it was discovered by a Twitter user and popular blockchain security expert ZachXBT. I imagined that one would notice if your personal accounting holding 9 digits of XRP worth $112 million got hacked, but apparently not. It took ZachXBT a public Twitter post to make the apparently unaware team at Ripple take action. This makes you wonder, if ZachXBT didn't pick it up... would this have gone unnoticed and been swept under the rug, or would Chris Larsen have come out and admitted it? I guess we'll never know. But with Ripple's dodgy actions in the past (ultimately leading to the SEC case), one can only guess.
Not too long ago, Jed McCaleb finally sold off the last of his enormous amount of XRP which he had been dumping monthly for years. One Twitter user voiced a very valid concern; "are all Ripple execs holding 9 digits of xrp, is there something in place to prevent them from dumping all at once on the market?"
It just seems like despite the markets best bullish trends, the constant overwhelming selling pressure is just too high for XRP to reach new highs. It's sad to see such a industry leader and once-promising project fall to new lows.

XRP - Rainbow After The Storm 🌪🌈Hello TradingView Family / Fellow Traders,
📉 XRP has been overall bearish trading inside the falling channel in red.
However it is currently hovering the lower bound of the channel and a strong support at 0.5.
As long as the support 0.465 holds, we will be looking for short-term buy setups on lower timeframes.
📈 For the bulls to take over from a short-term perspective, we need a break above the last minor high at 0.55.
🏹 And then for the bulls remain in control and take over from a medium-term perspective, we need a break above the upper red trendline and last major high at 0.6.
📚 Always follow your trading plan regarding entry, risk management, and trade management.
Good luck!

CRV : Time to LET GO of a Sinking DEX?Hi Traders, Investors and Speculators of Charts📈📉
One of the most important lessons you can learn in life is when it's time to let go. This holds true, even for crypto.
A recent hack caused a significant amount of damage to Curve Finance. As we thought the price of CRVUSDT couldn't possibly go any lower... CRV, Curve's native token, plummeted and is now nearly falling off my screen.
On July 30, Curve Finance was hacked for over $73 million worth of crypto. The hacker exploited a reentrancy vulnerability in Curve's code to drain liquidity from multiple pools.
(For Nerds): A reentrancy vulnerability is a type of exploit that occurs when a function calls another function, and the second function calls back to the first function. This can create a situation where the first function can call itself infinitely, which can lead to a denial-of-service attack or a financial exploit.
In the case of the Curve Finance hack, the hacker exploited a reentrancy vulnerability in the code for Curve's stablecoin swap function. The swap function allows users to swap one stablecoin for another. The hacker exploited the vulnerability by calling the swap function multiple times, each time withdrawing more liquidity from the pool. This caused the pool to become depleted, and the hacker was able to steal the remaining funds.
Reentrancy vulnerabilities are often found in smart contracts. Smart contracts are often used to automate financial transactions, and they are therefore often targets for hackers.
The anon hacker has since returned over $61 million worth of the stolen funds, but the remaining $12 million worth of funds is still missing.
AS YOU GUYS ALL KNOW, If you've been following me for a while , as soon as I see a > -95% drop in a coin's value WITHOUT a quick recovery... I can't help but lose faith. It's an obvious sign that the demand is lacking, the project has no real interest from the market. I feel sorry for the team; they've been around for a while and it's a well-know project. This hack was really the last thing that they needed. BUT, it happened and unless they can come up with great new way to add value to CRV, I won't be holding any more CRV.

Bitfinex's LEO Token: An Unconventional Investment OpportunityAs I made a case for FTT and have made a case for COIN and GBTC before, I want to keep sharing some unique charts and cases. Again, my FTT idea was banned (from a little mistake), so I just reposted it and want to continue with more special cases. By special cases, I mean stuff that looks weird, infeasible, or tricky, where sentiment is leaning against my case, while there could be a significant catalyst that helps the trade.
In my previous ideas, I went deep on some of those, and in the idea below, I shared some extra ones, like LEO. For example, FTT had people very negative about FTX being bankrupt, yet FTX might be revived, boosting the token's price. COIN had everyone bearish due to the SEC lawsuit, yet it's pumping hard, as most of the news was priced in, and Coinbase might win against the SEC. GBTC had a massive discount as everyone was bearish and worried, yet an ETF is coming. So what about LEO?
LEO is a token created by Bitfinex, an exchange token with some 'special' rights. Those rights are that if Bitfinex gets the 2016 hacked coins back, it will distribute 80% to LEO holders. The FBI caught the hackers 1-1.5 years ago and is sitting on those coins. I assume that it will eventually give Bitfinex the coins back. If they don't, LEO will crash, but if they do, LEO could easily do a 2-3x from here.
As you can see in the chart above, if the price of LEOBTC goes up to the highs it reached when the FBI caught the hackers, that's a 150% increase. Is it reasonable? The current market cap of LEO, in BTC terms, is 120k BTC. The hacked coins were 120k BTC. 80% of that is 96k BTC will go into buying back LEO tokens, and the rest to the Bitfinex team and shareholders.
I expect that Bitfinex will get a big boost from this. As Binance is in a bad state, Bitfinex could capitalize on this opportunity. They have been making tremendous progress on many fronts, and I believe that this could be a significant catalyst. Giving 3B back to LEO holders and Shareholders is massive. The publicity will be huge too.
The main issue against my idea is that LEO is the second biggest exchange token, yet Bitfinex isn't in the top exchanges by real volume. That means that, to a large extent, LEO has the return of the coins priced in because its price would otherwise not be so high.
In my opinion, there is a chance that they will give the coins back to Bitfinex holders, potentially before the launch of the ETF, to cause selling pressure on the Bitcoin price. As BTC faces selling pressure from several 'sides' (Mt.Gox, US gov, Bitfinex, Bankrupt companies), prominent players/whales may use that opportunity to scoop cheap coins before the ETF launch.
$HACK: Cybersecurity is a good position to haveI like the idea of keeping 10% in this ETF, and periodically selling calls OTM each month as a way to generate extra yield on the capital allocated to it.
The recent Vulkan Files leak might serve as a short term catalyst, but the technicals were already favoring strong upside from this base before, and broad market conditions favor a bull market resurgence.
Best of luck!
Cheers,
Ivan Labrie.
Crypto - UPtober or HACKtober 🤔Hi Traders, Investors and Speculators
Ev here. Been trading crypto since 2017 and later got into stocks. I have 3 board exams on financial markets and studied economics from a top tier university for a year. Daytime job - Math Teacher. 👩🏫
October is notorious for upward price action on Bitcoin, earning the title UPtober about two years ago. However, a new trend has begun - HACKtober.
During this year, we see an increase number of hacking across the months but October has been the month with the most hacks and the most liquidity stolen. After 4 hacks within the last 48 hours, October is now the month with the biggest hacking statistically, and there is another 15 days to go. According to Chainanalysis, $718 million is accounted for to be stolen from DeFi protocols across 11 different hacks. At this rate, 2022 will surpass 2021 as the biggest year for hacking on record. So far this year, over $3 Billion accounted for has been hacked across 125 hacks. During 2019, most hackers targeted exchanges. Now, the biggest targets are DeFi protocols. Cross-chain bridges remain a major target, with 3 breached tis month accounting for 82% of all losses this month and 64% of all losses this year.
Let's discuss a few ways to minimize your risk when investing in this wild west market:
🖐 - Research the team. Perhaps the single most important success factor for any ICO or cryptocurrency is the developers and administrative team behind the project. The cryptocurrency space is dominated by major names, with superstar developers like Ethereum ETHUSDT founder Vitalik Buterin capable of making or breaking new projects simply by having their names listed on a development team. For that reason, it's increasingly common for scammers to invent fake founders and biographies for their projects.
🖐 - Check the whitepaper. The whitepaper should lay out the background, goals, strategy, concerns, and timeline for implementation for any blockchain-related project. Whitepapers can be incredibly revealing: companies that have a flashy website may reveal they lack a fundamentally sound concept. On the other hand, a company with a website containing spelling errors may have a whitepaper that indicates a rock-solid concept and a carefully conceived implementation plan.
🖐 - It it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The idea of getting rich quick on an investment in a hot new project sure is tempting. Keep an eye out as you look for new investment opportunities in the ICO and cryptocurrency spaces. Remember that projects sounding too good to be true , likely are. Spend time scrutinizing every detail, and assume that the absence of a piece of crucial information may be an attempt to hide an unsound model or concept. Look for outside sources to verify the legitimacy of any project before making an investment. Ask questions that you can't already find the answers to.
💭 Whilst I remain bullish on Crypto, the above does reveal a worrisome trend for decentralized finance. Like this, DeFi still has a long way to go in terms of security. Hopefully the SEC case against Ripple will provide more clarity in terms of regulations and responsibility going ahead.

August 5 BTCUSD BingX Chart Analysis and Today's HeadlineBingX’s Bitcoin Chart
According to blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, there have been 13 separate bridge hacks this year, the most recent being the $190 million Nomad Bridge exploit. Bitcoin is down 1.52% over the last 24 hours and fell to an intraday low of $22,400.00. The relative strength index (RSI) is slightly above the midpoint, indicating that bulls still have a slight edge. The BTC/USDT pair has been trading around the 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) ($22,592) for the last few days, suggesting this is a vital indicator for both bulls and bears. If the bulls are unable to hold the price above the 20-day EMA ($22,592), the bears will attempt to pull the pair below the 50-day simple moving average (MA) ($21,352). Conversely, if the price bounces from the 20-day EMA ($22,592), the bull will attempt to push the price above $24,000.

Quantum cryptography and Post-Quantum cryptographyHello guys
today i want to explain Quantum cryptography and Post-quantum cryptography
and how they can affect blockchain security and whats the solution.
lets start with a brief explanation of cryptography:
Cryptography is the process of encrypting data, or converting plain text into scrambled text
so that only someone who has the right “key” can read it.
NOW what is quantum cryptography?
Quantum cryptography simply uses the principles of quantum mechanics
to encrypt data and transmit it in a way that cannot be hacked.
and what is Post-Quantum cryptography?
Post-quantum cryptography refers to cryptographic algorithms (usually public-key algorithms)
that are thought to be secure against an attack by a quantum computer.
These complex mathematical equations take traditional computers months or even years to break.
However, quantum computers running Shor’s algorithm will be able to break math-based systems in moments.
How Quantum Cryptography Works?
Quantum cryptography, or quantum key distribution (QKD), uses a series of photons (light particles)
to transmit data from one location to another over a fiber optic cable.
By comparing measurements of the properties of a fraction of these photons,
the two endpoints can determine what the key is and if it is safe to use.
The sender transmits photons through a filter (or polarizer) which randomly gives them one of four possible polarizations
and bit designations: Vertical (One bit), Horizontal (Zero bit), 45 degree right (One bit), or 45 degree left (Zero bit).
The photons travel to a receiver, which uses two beam splitters (horizontal/vertical and diagonal) to “read” the polarization of each photon.
The receiver does not know which beam splitter to use for each photon and has to guess which one to use.
Once the stream of photons has been sent, the receiver tells the sender which beam splitter
was used for each of the photons in the sequence they were sent, and the sender compares that information with the sequence of polarizers used to send the key.
The photons that were read using the wrong beam splitter are discarded, and the resulting sequence of bits becomes the key.
If the photon is read or copied in any way by an eavesdropper, the photon’s state will change.
The change will be detected by the endpoints. In other words, this means you cannot read the photon and forward it on or make a copy of it without being detected.
The Solution We Need Now for Tomorrow!
The need for unbreakable encryption is staring us in the face.
With the development of quantum computers looming on the horizon, the integrity of encrypted data is at risk now.
Fortunately, quantum cryptography, through QKD, offers the solution we need to safeguard our information well into the future – all based on the complex principles of quantum mechanics.
In January 2022 a team at Sussex University spin-out company Universal Quantum published research on transit attacks
which calculated that it would require a quantum computer with a 1.9 billion qubit-capacity to break Bitcoin’s encryption in the required ten-minute window
(this is the time taken for a Bitcoin to be mined). Even at 317 million qubits it would take an hour and 13 million qubits for a day.
For context, IBM’s superconducting quantum computer currently has a 127-qubit processor.

1.65 million EGLD hack. $113 million Elrond eGold stolen! The decentralized exchange Maiar, native to the Elrond blockchain, has been temporarily taken offline after an attacker deployed a smart contract that allowed him to withdraw over 1.65 million EGLD.
The attacker sold around 800,000 EGLD, worth around $54 million.
The price of EGLD on Maiar went from $76 to around $5.
After this first critical bug issue on Maiar, my buy area for EGLD is $26.

"U.S. law enforcement linked the Lazarus Group, an online crime syndicate connected to the North Korean government, to the $540 million hack of the online game Axie Infinity last month.
The theft, infiltrating the network upon which the game is run, was one of the largest in the 13-year history of cryptocurrencies. The perpetrators stole 173,600 ether and 25.5 million of the stablecoin USD Coin, or USDC, worth about $540 million at the time of the attack."

PSA: Beware of "Zombie Chains" - ETC, MIOTABitcoin, Ethereum, and most of the projects out there have never had their protocol compromised. There are a few exceptions -- the biggest ones being Ethereum Classic (ETC) and MIOTA. ETC had their protocol compromised by a 51% attack, MIOTA's system is most likely not even a real blockchain, after being audited by the MIT Technology Review. But we call them "zombie chains" because the blockchain allows for these projects to persist, even though it's dead.
HACK - Still in Rising ChannelLooking at HACK Beta share ETF on the daily.
HACK is going through a healthy correction at the moment and looking at retesting the bottom of the rising channel which coincides with the 62% fib retracement.
I expect HACK to continue its correction and bounce off the bottom support of the rising channel and continue its long-term trend.
RSI is also suggesting it is oversold on a daily.
Start of the Bull Run for Cyber Security stocks? In the early Dec 2020, FireEye, a top cyber security firm, said it was hack. About a week later, Solarwinds NYSE:SWI , an IT firm that provides software for companies like the Fortune 500 and the US government was also reported being hacked. The series of the hacking events stir up huge interest back to the cyber security stocks.
Is the rally for cyber security stocks sustainable? Or is it just for swing trading by tapping into the hacking news as catalyst? How about position trading (aka investing) for this sector? To answer these questions, let's take a closer look by analyzing the top 4 ETFs such as AMEX:HACK , AMEX:IHAK , NASDAQ:BUG , NASDAQ:CIBR and some of the outperforming stocks like NYSE:NET , NASDAQ:ZS , NASDAQ:CRWD , NASDAQ:OKTA , NASDAQ:TENB , NASDAQ:VRNS , NYSE:CALX , NASDAQ:ALRM , NSE:SAIL , NASDAQ:RPD , NASDAQ:FEYE and NYSE:PANW .
