Bearish Signals Intensify for NZDUSD Below 0.5800NZDUSD – technical overview
Overall pressure remains on the downside with the market continuing to stall out on runs up into the 0.6500 area. At the same time, there are some signs of the market wanting to put in a longer-term base. Ultimately, a break back above 0.6500 would be required to take the medium-term pressure off the downside and encourage this prospect. A monthly close below 0.5800 will intensify bearish price action.

NZDUSD – fundamental overview
RBNZ Governor Orr and Deputy Governor Hawkesby spoke earlier in the session before a parliamentary committee as part of their scheduled Financial Stability Report briefing. Hawkesby said that while there had been an increase in the proportion of non-performing loans, this had been "largely as predicted six months ago," and "provisions hadn't risen or weren't projected to rise as far as they had." On the data front, New Zealand building permits were balanced on the whole. Key standouts on Thursday’s calendar come from German and Eurozone manufacturing PMIs, Canada trade, US trade, US initial jobless claims, and US factory orders.

NZDUSD Is this 1D Golden Cross a bearish signal? The NZDUSD pair has been trading within a Channel Down on the 1D time-frame since the February 02 2023 High. The price almost reached the 0.786 Fibonacci retracement level, which has formed both previous Lower Highs.
As the pair completed a 1D Golden Cross today, traders might immediately think that this is a bullish signal, as theory suggests but in the past 18 months, both previous Golden Crosses have formed the Top.
At the same time, the 1D RSI completed a Double Top, similar to the December 27 2023 Top. As a result, we have strong evidence to sell this pair again, and target 0.57750 (Support 1).

NZD/USD Set to Rise: Leveraging Soft CPI and Fed Rate Cut ImpactHello Traders,
In today's trading session, we are closely monitoring NZD/USD for a potential buying opportunity around the 0.61500 zone. Currently, NZD/USD is trading in an uptrend and is undergoing a correction phase. This correction is bringing the pair closer to the key support and resistance area at 0.61500, a level that has historically acted as a significant pivot point.
From a fundamental perspective, yesterday's CPI data came in softer than expected. This indicates that inflationary pressures are not as strong as anticipated, suggesting a more subdued economic environment. Lower inflation reduces the urgency for aggressive monetary tightening, leading to market expectations of a more cautious approach from the Federal Reserve.
In response to the softer CPI data, the Federal Reserve did cut interest rates in its latest FOMC meeting. This dovish move is expected to weigh heavily on the USD, as lower interest rates generally lead to a weaker currency. This scenario supports our bullish outlook on NZD/USD, as a weaker USD increases the attractiveness of the NZD. Given these fundamental developments, the 0.61500 zone presents a strategic entry point for long positions in NZD/USD.
Trade safely,
Joe
NZDUSD - Short Trade IdeaNZDUSD recently displaced to the downside but quickly made a recovery and displaced above the swing of the recent drop. There was buyside liquidity in the form of equal highs that were swept, but the candle bodies seem to be respecting the bearish Orderblock.
I am anticipating price now return to a discount, taking out the sellside liquidity below, into a weekly BISI.

NZD/USD: Key Levels and Upcoming EventsHello Traders,
In today's session, we are closely monitoring NZD/USD for a potential buying opportunity around the 0.61000 zone. Currently, NZD/USD is in an uptrend and undergoing a correction phase, approaching the key support and resistance area at 0.61000.
Please be aware that tomorrow's trading will be influenced by significant events: the release of the CPI data and the FOMC meeting a few hours later. If the CPI data comes in hot, indicating higher inflation, we will cancel this trade, as it could prompt the Federal Reserve to adopt a more hawkish stance. Conversely, if the CPI data is soft, it may favor our trade by leading to a dovish outlook from the Fed, potentially weakening the dollar.
Trade safely,
Joe
