Replay
How to load the historical candles before the "earliest" candle. There is a way. It’s going to be a ball ache depending on how many times to have to repeat it.
1) Scroll the chart all the way back to the start of the data on the time frame you want.
2) Select Replay and click the "earliest" candle. This will load the previous candles.
3) Scroll the chart all the way back to the start of the data. Select the Jump to candle button. Select the earliest candle. Scroll the chart all the way back to the start of the data.
4) Select the Jump to candle button. Select the earliest candle. Scroll all the way back. Repeat 3 & 4 Repeat 3 & 4 ……
GBPUSD replay trades for the weekhey guys! it's been awhile but last week there were some great and rewarding setups on gbpusd as recorded in this video. I am sorry if the audio is a lil muffled as my mic has been weird but I hope you can hear the video nonetheless and watch the great setup unfold from coming into area of interest and then take play ! leave any questions down below.
In the recent months I've been forming my strategy to include more intraday trades into my trading plans as I initially only took swing setups, hence the pause in posting videos. However, I would love to be more regular now!
Replay of Short $SPCE trade - News TriggerWanted to hone in my skills to trade pre-market with news of public listed company. Especially price action weak companies where the bear action would be quicker than the rest.
This would act as a hedge for my long portfolio as well.
The news that I got from my notification was the filing of S-3 of 100m+ shares readied to be sold by existing shareholders + 8m of warrants to be further issued to the market (Though, post-facto I found out that it was just a conversion of S-1 to S-3 from Twitter but I was already in the trade and wanted to follow the plan in contrast to my short $IQ trade where I was a scaredy cat.
So news notification came in and I shorted pre-market at $24.00 (LMT order) and the price fell downwards to $22.80 at one point and I was feeling HIGH on the fast and furious downward ride.
Market open and the price was shooting up, it affected my Friday night mode and entire night I was looking at the chart. Which on hindsight, I should have set a stop-loss of $26 which would save my mood from crumbling when I looked at the 1m chart. Scary AF.
But the trade is now working out and I see the possibility of it falling to $20 using EMA 200 as a dynamic support and perhaps falling even deeper to 14-17 range.
Who knows. Hang on tight.
Replay of Iqiyi Short TradeI shorted pre-market with the news of IQ selling convertible bond together with the issuance of more common shares and got "scaredy cat" since this was the first time of me trading news + pre-market trading.
So I kind of covered the short trade once the market started trading and only had a gained of $0.57 ($20.62 -> $20.06) but I could have done more by holding and looking at 15m chart for trend reversal but I didn't.
So, reflection points:
1. Scaredy cat made me earn a lot less than I should
2. News trade + Pre-market works
3. Trade more following my convictions and not be chained by my fear
Can I trust the results?Which results are the most accurate or "true"? The one from the Bar Replay feature or the one given when a strategy is added to a chart?
I am still fairly new at TradingView and I learned about the Bar Replay feature today. But I also learned that the result from the feature and the result from the same strategy, once initially added to the chart, are not the same!
I tested this on several other public strategies and the behaviour is the same - different results!
So which one to trust? (if any of them?)
The results from the chart initially given is posted below in this idea. And as you can see the stats are:
- 22.29% net profit
- 12 trades
- 91.67 accuracy
The results from the Bar Replay, when I run it through the same time peroid, looks like this:
- 18.97 net profit
- 12 trades
- 75% accuracy
In this example the difference might not seem that great but looking closely I can see that the signal is emitted a candle later than the one shown in the strategy image.
I hope you guys/girls have any experience or knowledge to share!
Thanks in advance.
