Steinhoff
Steinhoff hit my price target and I am very worried for it now!We saw a major drop of 44% with Steinhoff to just 90cents and Its market capitalisation lost as much as R3bn in the fall from R6.9b yesterday
Steinhoff is in troubled waters with a debt of R185 billion.
There is a deal where if Shareholders will agree, they will end up owning 20% of the company.
The Creditors will own the rest.
The problem is the company will no longer be listed on the stock exchange.
From my experience when a company goes from listed to private it means a few things.
1. Liquidity issues
Volume will be low where you might not be able to exit a position with a rightful buyer or sell
2. lack of transparency
This leads to uncertainty for the business as shares holders won't have the transparent information like they would with a public company.
3. Valuation
With a company listed privately, this can lead to investors pricing in the business rather than shareholders. This can result in slower performance in the price of the share.
4. Market perception
The fact that a company has been delisted can be seen as a negative development by some investors, who may view it as a sign of financial distress or poor management. This can affect the market's perception of the company and its shares, which can in turn affect the value of your investment.
I would not touch Steinhoff with even my pocket money for sweets at this stage.

#Steinhoff - buy / long via a limit order

Steinhoff in free fall. The stock remains speculative until the retail group becomes profitable again on a long-term basis. Steinhoff has already made significant progress in its turnaround and reached an agreement with its groups of claimants. Therefore, the further operational development is now even more important.
Steinhoff subsidiary Pepco as a driver? The Pepco Group delivers good results for its first fiscal year. Pepco board replaced by experienced TESCO manager, from whom it is expected to continue on a profitable path. Pepco opens first branch in Berlin/Germany.
From a chart perspective, there is hardly any ground left. At approx. EUR 0.10, the next support is waiting, which can fall quickly in the current market and volatility situation.
My conclusion: highly speculative, highly volatile and therefore trade with adjusted capital! I speculate on turbulent market activity and wait with my limit order at 0.0555 EUR. I have more time and less pressure than Steinhoff! :-)
Steinhoff - Long - 21 January 2022Look who seems to be making a come-back - Steinhoff
First target around R6.43 due to a Rounding Bottom
Steinhoff: I think I bought the bottomBack in December 2017 the share price of this huge conglomerate of retail stores crashed. I posted about it in April 2018. Not sure if many people are interested (and this is one more reason why this is good, few people were interested when Gamestop was trading at $3, many were when it was at $300).
The direction got accused of fraud and for some magical reason investors thought this meant the whole giant, which has so many popular stores, was worth $0. I'm not going to make a whole analysis here, but to me it is worth more than zero. The price dropped by more than 99% I think it is ridiculous. Also they might have gotten hurt by covid, bad timing, they sell mostly non essentials.
They are releasing earnings in 1 month, and they might not be terrible.
There are some optimistic news:
- PEPCO earnings are up 46%,
- South African retailer Pepkor Holdings reported on Friday a 115.2% jump in annual earnings, rebounding from a low base in 2020 when it was affected by lockdown restrictions.
- I think they are settling their fraud issues with the help of Trevo Capital
- People are still going to their stores, and I think will continue to (because the stores offer value and because the covid panic is slowly fading away)
- Omicron has been said to lead to 70% less hospitalisations as Delta, it's as if viruses did not evolve to kill their hosts on purpose so they may go extinct and I was right all along
On the negative side they are very reliant on what is going on in South Africa, and it's not looking good. Which might be good for SA stocks in the long term... Short term people panic sell and long term look at Argentina, 20s Germany stock market, Zimbabwe...
For those into that, there is RSI divergence on the rounded bottom on the monthly chart:
I bought at 10c, so not the exact bottom, but when & if the price gets to $2, 10c will basically be the bottom.

Steinhoff Cup and Handle ENG/GERSteinhoff is in the process of forming a Cup and Handle formation, I expect a setback to the 23 retracement line and then an increase to up to 0.1564 €
Steinhoff ist dabei eine Cup and Handle formation zu bilden, ich rechne mit einem rücksetzer auf die 23 retracement linie und dann mit einem anstieg auf bis zu 0.1564€

no trading advice - my own opinion
Anyone want to buy a multi billion dollar company? (investment)People at the head of the company been accused of fraud? Irrelevant.
All I see is a multi billion conglomerate that got panic sold and still is functionning as it was before.
No one is interested in this, it got abandonned. Yet, they're still the same nothing has changed.
People only care about something when (after) it goes up and there's no FUD around it.
If there is a big green candle people will invest in anything, even magical internet monopoly money that
doesn't work only has problems and is a solution to nothing, and which only fundamental value is people's greed.
This is the best time to get in a company. There's always a risk it goes bankrupt, but no one gets rewarded for
not taking risks, it's like a law of the universe. And the reward here is just INSANE. Who tf is even selling at that price?
People that bough after it crashed?Hope there's more FUD and the stock drops even lower in the next months.
But looks like it could be moving out of accumulation zone now... I'll miss out :(
They have some meeting in the next hours, let's see what happens then.
