Altria Group (MO) bullish scenario:The technical figure Triangle can be found in the daily chart in the US company Altria Group, Inc. (MO). Altria Group, Inc. (previously known as Philip Morris Companies, Inc.) is an American corporation and one of the world's largest producers and marketers of tobacco, cigarettes and related products. Altria is the parent company of Philip Morris USA, John Middleton, Inc., U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company, Inc., and Philip Morris Capital Corporation. Altria also maintains large minority stakes in Belgium-based brewer AB InBev, the Canadian cannabis company Cronos Group, and the e-cigarette maker Juul. The Triangle broke through the resistance line on 15/04/2023. If the price holds above this level, you can have a possible bullish price movement with a forecast for the next 15 days towards 46.65 USD. According to experts, your stop-loss order should be placed at 44.49 USD if you decide to enter this position.
Altria will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release, which is expected to be April 27, 2023. In that report, analysts expect Altria to post earnings of $1.19 per share. This would mark year-over-year growth of 6.25%. Our most recent consensus estimate is calling for quarterly revenue of $4.98 billion, up 3.29% from the year-ago period.
Investors should also note Altria's current valuation metrics, including its Forward P/E ratio of 8.87. This valuation marks a premium compared to its industry's average Forward P/E of 8.72

Altria Group (MO) bullish scenario:The technical figure Pennant can be found in the daily chart in the US company Altria Group, Inc. (MO). Altria Group, Inc. (previously known as Philip Morris Companies, Inc.) is an American corporation and one of the world's largest producers and marketers of tobacco, cigarettes and related products. Altria is the parent company of Philip Morris USA (producer of Marlboro cigarettes), John Middleton, Inc., U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company, Inc., and Philip Morris Capital Corporation. Altria also maintains large minority stakes in Belgium-based brewer AB InBev, the Canadian cannabis company Cronos Group, and the e-cigarette maker Juul. The Pennant broke through the resistance line on 05/10/2022. If the price holds above this level, you can have a possible bullish price movement with a forecast for the next 5 days towards 46.63 USD. Your stop-loss order, according to experts, should be placed at 40.35 USD if you decide to enter this position.
Altria will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release, which is expected to be October 27, 2022. The company is expected to report EPS of $1.31, up 7.38% from the prior-year quarter. Our most recent consensus estimate is calling for quarterly revenue of $5.65 billion, up 2.15% from the year-ago period.
Digging into valuation, Altria currently has a Forward P/E ratio of 8.75. Its industry sports an average Forward P/E of 8.76, so we one might conclude that Altria is trading at a discount comparatively.
It is also worth noting that MO currently has a PEG ratio of 1.46. This popular metric is similar to the widely-known P/E ratio, with the difference being that the PEG ratio also takes into account the company's expected earnings growth rate. The Tobacco industry currently had an average PEG ratio of 1.13 as of yesterday's close.

BTI at my buy value areaI have calculated a buy value at roughly $36 (fair value based on earnings forecast minus 20% margin of security).
Now we are at this price.
Chart is in the main volume cluster but is falling like the entire sector (PM and MO have the same beta - volatility - at the moment)
BTI is plus affecting now by the fear of american investors due to the falling of pound sterlin and voices are telling about a possible cut in USD dividend.
Maybe usd dividend could return from 7% to the 5% which is the tobacco sector's dividend avarage. MO offers higher dividend at the moment but its economics and fair value are not in line with my strategies.
Looking the history, escluding the 80s, BTI did not performe bad during the falling of pound sterlin, and never a cut of its dividend in a big shot.
Tobacco sector is my preferred in line with the actual economic cycle, drop is good for buying lower, cash flows are strong and people will continue to smoke even during the recession.
IMBBY Ready For A Bullish PopLooking for a near-term bounce here for Imperial Brands. IMBBY with Two + years of bullish trading. Also, formed a bullish Pennant clearly outlined in price action. Risk-Reward on this looks solid, waiting for a pop higher for IMBBY then a retest below 22.50 support, then going to enter a long to try to capture that big move to the upside.
IMBBY needs to cross above the 200-day SMA (depicted in neon green), in recent trading the 200-day has acted as a very reliable trend resistance line and it must be surpassed before a major move to the upside is possible for IMBBY. Stop loss is firmly set at 20.00, right around the bottoms of the support trend areas.
IMBBY should work. Even in this volatile market.
IMBBY's winning characteristics: Cheap valuation, Solid balance sheet, high dividend payer, an international scope of business, and a line of products that have highly insensitive demand.
As always this is not financial advice. Good luck!
$XXII 10~yr pennantThere's plenty of research that can be done on why I am fundamentally holding this long term. It's getting into zones I am comfortable adding to the position. There are outside forces that have kept this stock beaten down for many years as they are the major big tobacco killer, as a micro-cap. My outlook is that when the switch flips and tides turn, this stock can be explosive, and the 10 year pennant has big upside.
Recent direct offering done at 2.05, currently 1.60. The long term equilibrium zone is roughly 1.40-1.70, I am a buyer, adding slowly here, and will continue to add sub 1.30.
The last year and a half the stock has been trading in a downward channel. Looking at previous 1-2 year periods, there are larger scale macro patterns that tend to form and play out.
Recent progress and development of their company key driving force in VLN, has become more and more a reality. Despite the company being in a great position after years of the rigorous FDA process, it's the final stretch for them as their product is now on shelves.
Pair that with being on the lower end of the range here, with earnings coming up and an update on their pilot program, I am adding to the long holds.
Roughly 7 years I've been following this company closely, swing trading it up and down. The recent direct offering with warrants gave investors the opportunity to short, but I believe it will be a short-lived downturn. The time horizon is 12 months for a macro reversal here to break the channel.
Godfrey Phillips - Care to take a puff of this stock ? Technical reasoning for a Bullish setup :
> Quarterly charts represent a 6 year base building in this cigarette company from 2016 to 2021 where the stock has done nothing
> Apr 2020 to June 2021 - 5 quarterly candles just showed sideways action in the counter and finally a breakout to retest the all time high resistance happened in July to September quarter
> As the saying goes the bigger the base, the longer in space - A successful breakout & close above overhead resistance of 1400 zone can attract further momentum taking the stock to 2000 in coming months.
> Depending on the time frame , risk can be defined at 1100 (for short term) and 950 (for long term)
> Disclosure : I bought stake @ 1319 on Nov 3 , 2021
Cigarette smoking is bad for health, but will it be bad for my portfolio ? Only time will tell
Imperial Brands long trade ideaWe covered a couple of tobacco stocks in one of our YouTube videos.
Now we see a good setup for LSE:IMB ; price > 50EMA, 50EMA>200EMA, characteristics of a strong uptrend. For a short term pay, 1:4 risk-to-reward; a buy at current level with a stop below the 50EMA, and a short-term target at 2244 GBX.
CLC -- Exclusive developer/distributor for TAAT & Beyond TobaccoTAAT is being heavily promoted but few know that CLC is the exclusive developer and distributor for TAAT & Beyond Tobacco products in Canada. It is also a well established cannabis grow/extraction business in one of the best farming regions of BC, Canada.
Very bullish chart. Bullish MACD cross is a technical buy signal. Bullish Engulfing candle is signalling continuation. Lots of room to run before hitting overbought levels.
MO drops on Biden banning nicotine?lol what? Tobacco stocks are dropping on news that Biden is planning to restrict nicotine content in tobacco products. This brings NYSE:MO down about -12% from the high two days ago but still up 14% on the year. It is an attractive dividend yield play at this price (about 7%) but waiting for it to come to a proper support before buying myself.
I like NYSE:MO actually as a pot stock play. They are already positioned in the industry through acquisitions a few years ago. I think that companies who have hundreds of years of experience in growing, cultivating, processing and (most importantly) marketing smoking products will do well in the long term future.
OGI Canadian Cannabis Gem Hop on the train quick today is offering some nice discounts on this undervalued stock. We will see $6-$8 in the next coming weeks/ months. Recently invested in by a tobacco company for about $173 million will allow them to expand their reach and will be getting into the CBD scene. Go luck y’all lmk what you guys think!
TAAT Will Be The Best Performing Equity In 2021TAAT is launching in Ohio this month and it looks ready to take out the all time highs again. Cup and handle is almost complete and holding key Fib levels. Beyond Tobacco will be a game changer! Helping people quit nicotine and it's a lot cheaper than current CBD products.
Altria poised to climb from hereOn this week's ISM PMI report, the fastest-growing industry for September was "Food, Beverage, and Tobacco." So I looked at the tobacco space over the weekend and noticed that the tobacco company Altria recently made a fairly large price correction and looks to be making a U-shaped bottom, with an imminent bullish cross on the MACD. With the positive technicals and positive economic data for the sector, it looks like a pretty good buy.
Plus, fundamentals and sentiment look fairly good, too. Altria pays a 9% dividend, and its earnings, sales, book value, and free cash flow are currently priced an average of about 37% below the median price for the last three years. Investors have been discounting tobacco stocks due to competition from e-cigarettes, but the reality is that Altria is poised to capture market share in the e-cig space too, with a couple hundred vape-related patent filings over the past few years. In terms of sentiment, there's 23% upside to the average analyst price target, according to TipRanks, and the Equity Starmine analyst summary score is 9.2/10. Options traders are bullish, with more than twice as many calls as puts.
Consumer staples and dividend payers tend to outperform in a recession, so Altria has potential as a defensive hedge should the recession double dip.
$VGR can fall in the next daysContextual immersion trading strategy idea.
Vector Group Ltd., through its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells cigarettes in the United States.
The demand for shares of the company still looks lower than the supply.
This and other conditions can cause a fall in the share price in the next days.
So I opened a short position from $10,52;
stop-loss — $11,05.
Information about take-profits will be later.

Is 22ND Century trading in a descending triangle?Maybe a bull flag or ascending triangle as well. It looks like they're trading above the 200 Day MA, which is bullish for the stock in determining the direction of the trend at times.
MO being tested by FDA fears and Institutional SellingIf any stock can do a fakeout, it's Altria. We've seen intense selling to where the RSI is no good. FDA pressure and fears of menthol bans accelerated the selling momentum. We broke down through the channel, furthering bear strength and then through a strong support slope. Yearly bottom of April has held. I'm seeing a bear flag, yet overlapped with a semblance of a bull flag on smaller timeframes. Until buyers can settle above 57 at a close, today could be just a small reprieve in the overall drop. Hoping for bull momentum to return and the downward slope to prove as support. February's Support slope will likely prove as strong resistance in the future. 56.34 area as current immediate resistance... A strong upward break through 57.10-57.33 will be important to reclaim trading zones.
THIS IS A GREAT SETUP FOR A BIG MOVE!British American Tobacco (JSE:BTI), is one of the top 5 tobacco companies in the world, owning popular tobacco brands like Palmal, Kent, Lucky Strike Dunhill, Kool, Benson and Hedges, Peter Stuyvesant and Rothmans. With its headquarters in London, BAT has global operations in more than 180 countries. BAT shares are for sale on the London Stock Exchange and have a secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
BTI has partnerships with more than 90,000 farmers and factories in 42 countries. 9 of the group’s 44 factories are located in Africa and BAT has had a presence in South Africa for more than 100 years. Established in 1976, the factory in Heidelberg is the eighth largest BAT factory in the world, producing more than 27 billion cigarettes a year for local and export markets.
The world has become far more health conscious than before and this is evident in the share price movements over the last 2.5 years. E-cigarettes are the key focus of the large tobacco manufacturers but don't seem to be selling quite as well as they would have hoped. I am sure that we can expect innovation from the large manufacturers on the heated tobacco topic but this will definitely not be without it's challenges.
It seems the big tobacco companies are strategising around health research that it’s smoke, not nicotine, that causes cancer and associated lung diseases. Part of the strategy will be to develop smaller versions of the Glo Stick with higher levels of nicotine in order to boost sales.
Generally speaking, we think that individual smokers will consume fewer cigarettes each and smaller percentages of populations will smoke. While cigarette sales in developed countries continue to decline year-on-year, sustained volume growth is widely predicted in emerging markets, driven by population growth and increasing disposable income. As a result, the overall value of the tobacco market continues to increase.
This value is expected to continue growing in the future. The resilience of the industry is underlined by the continued year-on-year net revenue growth, at constant rates of exchange.
Let's look at the technicals.
Weekly (pink): The steady share price increase on the left of the chart came to quite a sudden stop around June 2016. I am now looking at the corrective structure formation which has unfolded since that point. According to my analysis, we are in wave 3 of the correction. We can see the effort the share price has made to reverse from earlier this year and we may possibly see some upside from this point. It is also a possibility that there will be further decline and wave 3 could lengthen. In the longer term I am expecting price to move back to the top of the weekly structure.
Daily (blue): A look at the daily time frame shows a likely structure setup which ties in with the larger perspective as well. This is very likely the start of wave 3 on the daily structure which would also indicate the start of wave 4 on the weekly structure. Both setups have the potential to yield a large move to the upside.
H4 (green): As you can see on the chart above, price has just broken out of the H4 correction. This indicates that it is unlikely to have another wave to the downside and that the move to the upside has begun. The chart above illustrates the entry and exit levels that I will be looking at for this trade. Enjoy the freebie!
