Nasdaq (NDX): US Election Hype vs RealityThe US Elections are just around the corner – a global event that everyone is eagerly anticipating. But the big question remains: Will the election results really have a massive impact on the financial markets? Or, at the end of the day, does it even matter who wins – Kamala Harris or Donald Trump? 🤔
We shared our view months ago: It doesn’t matter who takes the presidency. We firmly believe that a major market correction is inevitable, regardless of the election outcome. The timing? Impossible to predict. But one thing is clear: the warning signs are everywhere. From rising unemployment and skyrocketing debt to relentless inflation, the economic data paints a bleak picture, reinforcing our thesis.
Looking at the weekly NASDAQ:NDX chart, a drop of over 20% could definitely happen. This isn’t something to ignore. But even in the middle of this chaos, there is a golden opportunity: A significant downturn could present a rare chance to accumulate high-quality assets at very cheap prices. This could be the moment to build a perfect portfolio, positioning yourself for long-term gains when the market rebounds.
So, how should you approach this?
See the upcoming volatility as an opportunity, not a threat. Secure your open positions, stay adaptable, keep an eye on the markets, and buy strong assets undervalued.
And most importantly:
Sit back and enjoy the show that both the markets and the political landscape are about to deliver! 🍿

Let the Market Calm Down a Bit After Elections
I guess you saw the many forex pairs and other assets quite
impulsively reacted to the polls this night.
The best strategy to follow after such movements is to let
the market calm down and find the balance.
Quite often, the first reaction is always driven by emotions
and overestimate a real short-term and mid-term impacts.
For that reason, be patient for now and do not rush trading.

US ELECTION DAY The day is finally here. The world is watching but most importantly the crypto market is watching too. Trump still leads the Polymarket forecast and IMO opinion that would lead into the next phase of the Bullrun, breaking out of the 8 month downtrend and complete the bullflag continuation pattern.
If the Democrats win I could see a delay in proceedings, a flush toward the range midpoint after panic before regaining some form of stability going into Q1 2025. In the past no matter who has run America BTC does still see progress, I do think that progress will come quicker with a Republican victory.
I'm expecting volatility as always in such a big news release, a release that will overshadow what is normally the most important data release with the FOMC that takes place 2 days away. I would think that this time around it will be less important and a 25bps cut is near enough confirmed anyway.
Good luck out there fellow traders!
USTEC is engulfed in uncertainty ahead of the US election
Stock prices in the semiconductor companies declined after reports that the US government instructed major companies to cut China companies from their supply chains. NVIDIA's gains diminished to a 0.48% increase, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index dropped by 0.55%.
Additionally, Warren Buffett's decision to sell US stocks and secure cash negatively affected the overall US index. Berkshire Hathaway reduced its stock holdings from 905 million shares at the end of last year to 300 million shares by the end of September, including a significant sell-off of Apple stocks this year.
USTEC briefly tested 20140 but failed to hold above the 20000 threshold. After slipping back to the channel's lower bound, the index awaits further price triggers. If USTEC breaches the resistance after re-entering the channel, the index may gain upward momentum toward the 20680 high. Conversely, if USTEC fails to enter the channel and retreats to 19700, the index may fall further to the support at 19520.
NZD/USD rises ahead of jobs data, US electionThe New Zealand dollar is higher on Monday. In the European session, NZD/USD is trading at 0.5991, up 0.49% on the day. The New Zealand dollar is coming off a miserable October, plunging 5.9%.
New Zealand releases the third quarter employment report on Wednesday. The markets are braced for soft numbers that point to a deterioration in the labor market. Employment change is expected to decline by 0.4% after a 0.4% gain in the second quarter. As well, the unemployment rate is expected to jump to 5%, from 4.6% in the second quarter. The New Zealand dollar is vulnerable to a weak employment report.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand will be keeping a close eye on the job release. A weak employment report will support for the case for a rate cut at the Nov. 27 meeting. Last month, the central bank made an aggressive cut of 50 basis points, lowering the cash rate to 4.75%. What can we expect at the next meeting?
Inflation has been moving lower and eased to 2.2% y/y in the third quarter. This was down sharply from 3.3% in Q2 and more importantly, was back within the RBNZ’s target band of 1%-3%. The decline in inflation has raised expectations of further aggressive cuts and the most likely scenario is another 50-bp cut. Still, the RBNZ has demonstrated in the past that it can be very aggressive and a 75-bp cut cannot be ruled out.
The US election on Tuesday is too close to call and the political uncertainty could translate in volatility in the financial markets. With the votes in some swing states expected to be very close, we can expect recounts and even court challenges, which means that the election outcome won’t be determined for days or even weeks, which could leave investors uneasy. The election will be followed by the Federal Reserve rate decision on Thursday, with the markets pricing in a 25-bp cut at close to 100%.
NZD/USD tested resistance at 0.6014 earlier. Above, there is resistance at 0.6028
There is support at 0.5988 and 0.5974

ELECTION WEEK IS HERE! This is the one we've all been waiting for and probably been nervous about. On the 5th November the US election takes place, now we might not know for certain who has won on that day but we should have a good idea barring no funny business. At time of writing, Trump leads the betting market polls 57.7% : 42.3% which is down significantly from last weeks high of 67%. A lot can happen between now and tomorrow but for BTC and crypto in general a Trump win should be favourable to the markets, a Harris win might delay cryptos progress IMO.
If the US election wasn't enough for one week FOMC takes place a couple of days later. With a forecasted cut of 25bps coming taking the interest rate from 5.00% to 4.75%. The last FOMC saw a 50bps cut so the FED is rapidly moving to a more risk on environment which should be pro crypto, however I do think the election result will dwarf this FOMC in importance as the 25bps cut has been known about for awhile and most likely priced in.
Obviously the election is the main focus of this week, a number of projects have token unlocks this week too:
Larger % circ. supply:
NEON,BANANA,ADA,XAI,BGB,AGI
Smaller % Cir. supply:
SOL,WLD,TIA,TAO,AVAX,DOGE,SEI,NEAR,DOT,SUI&FIL
The altcoin market is still at the mercy of BTC and BTC is at the mercy of this election currently so we'll have a better picture of what the future may look like by the end of the week.
In Bitcoin Ascending triangle hase been broken Bitcoin has breakdown the ascending triangle here we can see a big sell/Short and Bitcoin should hit down to next support levels.
Fundamentally we can also see the election in USA on Tuesday so this election can be a big Dump in market so all traders be careful.
Bitcoin can touch 52k also according to my analysis.
Bitcoin Stays True to “Uptober” with 11% Pop. What Happens Next?Bitcoin BTC/USD saw elevated demand in October as the surge nearly led to a new all-time high. Now the looming US election on November 5 is shaping up as a catalyst for growth, depending on who gets to become President of the United States.
Bullishness is in the air. The OG token — Bitcoin BTC/USD — pumped hard in yet another October. Staying true to the “Uptober” tradition , BTC added 11% over the month, kicking it all the way up to more than $73,000 , just a few hundred bucks shy of its record high logged in March .
The powerful surge is now taking a breather with prices diving back under the $70,000 threshold. But not for long, according to some analysts who are already living post November 5. What’s that? It’s the biggest event of the year — economically, politically, and … cryptolitically ?
Gloves on, bell rings, the main event is here — in the blue corner is Democrat Kamala Harris facing her red-shorts opponent, Republican Donald Trump. The current Vice President and the former President are squaring up for the top spot in American politics. And both have vastly differing viewpoints on crypto.
If we were to play favorites, it’s fair to say that Donald Trump is winning the hearts of the crypto faithful. Throughout his rallying and campaigning, he’s made it clear that he believes in Bitcoin’s growth potential. What’s more, he’s embraced digital assets in general and wants to see the market thrive in the world’s biggest economy.
The promises don’t stop there. Trump has vowed to make the US the “crypto capital of the world” and dig out all the remaining Bitcoins from within US grounds. He also pledged to set up a Bitcoin strategic reserve and fire Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler, who is seen as a roadblock to future crypto growth.
Hence the so-called “Trump trade,” which has been propelling the orange coin to higher places.
On the other end of the spectrum is Kamala Harris who has adopted a warm, but not that warm stance toward crypto. She’s all about casting a sweeping regulatory framework over the industry. The Democratic candidate has vowed to “encourage innovative technologies” like digital assets. Still better than President Joe Biden’s crackdown on the sector.
More interestingly, Trump has recruited a key player on his team. Elon Musk, the world’s richest guy (depending on the day) and CEO of Tesla TSLA , is a major donor to Trump’s campaign. He is looking to potentially get employed by the government as head of — can you guess? — Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE (a nod to Musk’s beloved coin).
"I will create a government efficiency commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government," Trump said at a rally back in September.
“I look forward to serving America if the opportunity arises. No pay, no title, no recognition is needed,” the eccentric billionaire wrote on his X platform .
How is that bullishness trickling into the markets? Besides the obvious price leap, options traders are ramping up their bets for $80,000 Bitcoin by the end of November. Implied volatility on November 5 is elevated — BTC options flag a 30% chance of a 10% swing in the price. Stay cool, stay ready.
On the ETFs front, exchange-traded funds that hold genuine Bitcoin and offer spot trading pulled in around $4 billion of net new money in October. The biggest winner of all 11 spot BTC ETFs is the BlackRock-owned iShares Bitcoin Trust, which holds more than $26 billion in assets.
Traders broadly (not just the crypto space) may be pricing in a Trump victory and scooping up some of the assets that are likely to do well under his term. But while Trump is ahead in prediction markets, he’s neck-and-neck with Harris in the national polls, making Election Day all the more uncertain.
With that said, Bitcoin is up 57% on the year, outperforming other large-cap assets, such as gold XAU/USD , up 35% in a stellar year of its own , and the S&P 500 SPX , up 20% year to date, also enjoying lots of buying appetite .
Whose side are you on and do you think we'll see a huge swing in the price of Bitcoin come November 5? Share your thoughts below!
UPTOBER ENDS Bitcoins monthly close is behind us and it's an interesting one...
For most of the last day of the month BTC was above the previous monthly close high of $71,413.40. However, Bitcoin failed to close above that level coming up 1.67% short.
Despite this the monthly candle is very strong, historically October is a good performer hence the "UPTOBER" nickname and this time around was no exception with an +11% move. I said in a previous post that a retest of the '21 ATH @ $69,000 is possible and likely, in the last 8 months BTC has routinely rejected off this level with no acceptance above, just SFPs galore. This is the chance to retest and accept as new support. that would set up a move for ATH and above.
Q4 so far has been positive, we know that this month will be a strange one as the US election is in a few days and can sway markets so volatility can be expected. In the end I think the trajectory is new highs by the end of the year.
How key markets have performed either side of a US electionI wanted to see how major markets have performed in the days before, during and after US elections. So I coded up a new spreadsheet. Here are the results...
Please note:
- Price data supplied by Refinitiv
- Most markets go back 8 elections
- US futures and VIX are the exception, which go back 6 elections

28/10/24 Weekly outlookLast weeks high: $69,526.58
Last weeks low: $65,268.55
Midpoint: $67,397.56
2021's ATH of $69,000 was once again broken last week, that makes it the 8th time this year BTC has broken through that level. Each and every time so far price has rejected off without price acceptance above it.
We are now 7 days away from the US election, with Trump in the lead in the polls and Wall Street preparing for another Trump presidency I expect to see crypto start to push on after the 8 month chop. The plan for a Bitcoin strategic reserve and favourable law-making towards the crypto market is a positive.
We also have the FTX distribution in 2 weeks, that's $16B coming back into the market, perhaps not all of it will stay in crypto but even if a portion of that remains that will be a significant boost to buyside pressure.
All in all BTC is in good shape currently, I would like to see acceptance above the all important $69,000 level by the end of the week setting us up well for the US election. Obviously what happens there is unknown until we get the result and typically fear can be negative for the markets so maybe we don't see acceptance this week but I am confident that the R:R at current price looks good with many signals showing growth is likely going into the end of Q4.
21/10/24 Weekly outlook (day late)Last weeks high: $69,001.51
Last weeks low: $62,475.70
Midpoint: $65,738.60
Bit of a different weekly outlook this week as I couldn't post yesterday. So with the benefit of hindsight it looks like we have a swing fail pattern in the making after taking the liquidity from the $69,000 ('21 ATH) level.
I would say judging by the chart I would want the downside to be capped at the Midpoint, continuing the trend pattern of higher highs and higher lows. The '21 ATH has been the biggest hurdle for BTC over the last 7 months with repetitive rejections, if the lows can keep creeping up then eventually we should get a spring above and that should be the move for an ATH run which should happen soon after if all goes well.
Naturally we have ever increasing outside interference with the US election just around the corner, we know this is likely to cause volatility so be careful of that. Prediction markets like Polymarket have Trump as favourite, he is the pro bitcoin candidate so it should be a positive for the space if he were to be elected but you never quite know what will happen until it's confirmed.
This week I want to see BTC continuing to make higher lows and higher highs. Altcoins have cooled off a little too after the initial BTC burst up from $60,000 so I'm looking for opportunities there too.
Options Blueprint Series [Intermediate]: US Election Oil Play1. Introduction
The 2024 US Presidential Election could have a significant impact on global markets, especially energy sectors like crude oil. With key policies and geopolitical tensions hinging on the outcome, many traders are eyeing a potential price surge in WTI Crude Oil futures. Our prior article (linked below) presented a potential opportunity for crude oil prices to rise by over 40% within a year following the election. This could bring WTI Crude Oil Futures (CLZ2025) from its current price of 67.80 to around 94.92.
To capitalize on this potential opportunity, a strategic options play can be used to leverage this potential move, providing not only a chance to profit from a bullish breakout but also some protection against downside risk. This article explores a Breakout Booster Play using options on the December 2025 WTI Crude Oil futures contract (CLZ2025), designed to benefit from a possible post-election oil price surge.
2. Technical Overview
In analyzing the December 2025 WTI Crude Oil Futures (CLZ2025), a strong support level is identified. The 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level aligns perfectly with a UFO support zone at 55.62, suggesting a significant area where buying interest could emerge if prices fall to this level.
The current price of CLZ2025 is 67.80, and the technical analysis points to the possibility of a substantial bullish move following the 2024 US Presidential Election. The projected price increase of 40% could push crude oil prices up to 94.92 over the next year. However, even a more conservative target of 20% (around 81.36) could offer considerable upside potential.
This analysis provides the foundation for constructing an options strategy that not only takes advantage of the potential upside but also offers a buffer zone against downside risk by capitalizing on key support levels.
3. The Options Strategy
The options strategy we'll use here is a Breakout Booster Play designed to take advantage of the expected rise in crude oil prices. Here's how the strategy is constructed:
1. Sell 2 Puts at the 55 Strike:
Expiring on November 17, 2025, these puts are sold to collect a premium of approximately 3.27 points per contract.
By selling 2 puts, we collect a total of 6.54 points.
This creates a buffer zone, allowing us to take on some downside risk while still profiting if prices remain above 55.
2. Buy 1 Call at the 71 Strike:
Also expiring on November 17, 2025, the call is purchased for 6.28 points.
This call gives us the potential for unlimited upside if crude oil prices rise above 71.
Net Cost: The net cost of this strategy is minimal, with the collected premium from the puts (6.54) offsetting most of the cost of the call (6.28). The result is a credit of 0.26 points, meaning the trader gets paid to enter this position.
Break-Even Points:
The position would lose money only if crude oil falls below 54.87 (factoring in the premium collected).
Profit potential becomes significant if crude oil rises above 71, with large gains expected if the projected move to 81.36 or 94.92 materializes.
This strategy effectively positions the trader to profit from an upward breakout while maintaining a buffer against downside risk. If crude oil drops, losses are limited unless it falls below 54.87, at which point the trader would be required to take delivery of 2 crude oil futures contracts (long).
4. Profit and Risk Analysis
Profit Potential:
The key advantage of this options strategy is its profit potential on the upside. If crude oil prices rise above 71, the purchased call will start gaining value significantly.
If crude oil reaches 94.92 (a 40% increase from the current price), the long call will be deep in the money, resulting in substantial profits.
Even if the price rises more conservatively to 81.36 (a 20% increase), the strategy still allows for meaningful gains as the call appreciates.
Since the net entry cost is essentially zero (with a small credit of 0.26 points), the potential profit is high, and it becomes especially powerful above 71, with unlimited upside.
Risk Management:
This strategy comes with a 19% buffer before any losses occur at expiration, as the break-even point is 54.87. However, it is important to note that if the trade is closed before expiration, losses could be realized if crude oil prices have dropped, even if the price is above 55.
Risk Pre-Expiration: If crude oil prices fall sharply, especially before expiration, the trader could face significant losses. The risk is theoretically unlimited because, as the market moves against the sold puts, their value could rise dramatically. If a trader needs to close the position early, those puts could be worth significantly more than the premium initially collected, resulting in losses.
Potential Margin Calls: If crude oil drops far enough, the trader may receive a margin call on the short puts. This could happen well before the price reaches 54.87, depending on the speed and size of the drop. If not managed properly, this could force the trader to close the position at a significant loss.
While there is a built-in buffer, this trade requires active monitoring, particularly if crude oil prices start to decline. Risk management techniques, such as stop-loss orders, rolling options, or hedging, should be considered to mitigate losses in case the market moves unexpectedly.
5. Contract Specs and Margins
WTI Crude Oil Futures (CL)
Tick Size: The minimum price fluctuation is 0.01 per barrel.
Tick Value: Each 0.01 movement equals $10 per contract.
Margin Requirement: Approximately $6,100 per contract (subject to change based on market volatility).
Micro Crude Oil Futures (MCL)
Tick Value: Each 0.01 movement equals $1 per contract.
Margin Requirement: Approximately $610 per contract, offering a lower capital requirement for smaller positions.
Why Mention Both?
Traders with larger capital allocations may prefer using standard WTI Crude Oil futures contracts, given their greater exposure and tick value. However, for smaller or more conservative traders, Micro Crude Oil Futures (MCL) provide a more accessible way to enter the market while maintaining the same exposure ratios in a smaller size.
6. Summary and Conclusion
This options strategy provides a powerful way to capitalize on a potential post-election rally in crude oil prices, while offering downside protection. The combination of selling 2 puts at the 55 strike and buying 1 call at the 71 strike, all expiring on November 17, 2025, creates a structured approach to profit from a bullish breakout.
With current analysis based on machine learning suggesting a potential 40% increase in crude oil prices over the next year, the long call offers unlimited profit potential above 71. At the same time, the sale of the puts at the 55 strike gives the strategy a 19% buffer, with the break-even point at expiration being 54.87.

Must-Watch Events in U.S. Politics This Week With six weeks until Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump by 5 points, 49% to 44%, according to a new NBC poll. Harris' favorability has surged 16 points since July, the largest increase for any candidate since George W. Bush after 9/11.
Harris is set to unveil new economic proposals on Thursday, expanding her vision for an “opportunity economy.” Meanwhile, Trump is now urging early and mail-in voting, despite previously blaming it for election fraud.
As for a second debate, Harris has accepted an invitation for October 23, but Trump seems reluctant after their first encounter.
Additionally, House Speaker Mike Johnson has proposed a stopgap funding bill to prevent a government shutdown before the Sept. 30 deadline, with a vote expected on Wednesday.
How will the market react after the next US election? How will the market perform if either Biden or Trump wins? That should be an easy question to answer, as we can track the market performance on the first day each became President of the United States.
