Rate of Change StrategyRate of Change Strategy :
INTRODUCTION :
This strategy is based on the Rate of Change indicator. It compares the current price with that of a user-defined period of time ago. This makes it easy to spot trends and even speculative bubbles. The strategy is long term and very risky, which is why we've added a Stop Loss. There's also a money management method that allows you to reinvest part of your profits or reduce the size of your orders in the event of substantial losses.
RATE OF CHANGE (ROC) :
As explained above, the ROC is used to situate the current price compared to that of a certain period of time ago. The formula for calculating ROC in relation to the previous year is as follows :
ROC (365) = (close/close (365) - 1) * 100
With this formula we can find out how many percent the change in the current price is compared with 365 days ago, and thus assess the trend.
PARAMETERS :
ROC Length : Length of the ROC to be calculated. The current price is compared with that of the selected length ago.
ROC Bubble Signal : ROC value indicating that we are in a bubble. This value varies enormously depending on the financial product. For example, in the equity market, a bubble exists when ROC = 40, whereas in cryptocurrencies, a bubble exists when ROC = 150.
Stop Loss (in %) : Stop Loss value in percentage. This is the maximum trade value percentage that can be lost in a single trade.
Fixed Ratio : This is the amount of gain or loss at which the order quantity is changed. The default is 400, which means that for each $400 gain or loss, the order size is increased or decreased by an amount chosen by the user.
Increasing Order Amount : This is the amount to be added to or subtracted from orders when the fixed ratio is reached. The default is $200, which means that for every $400 gain, $200 is reinvested in the strategy. On the other hand, for every $400 loss, the order size is reduced by $200.
Initial capital : $1000
Fees : Interactive Broker fees apply to this strategy. They are set at 0.18% of the trade value.
Slippage : 3 ticks or $0.03 per trade. Corresponds to the latency time between the moment the signal is received and the moment the order is executed by the broker.
Important : A bot has been used to test the different parameters and determine which ones maximize return while limiting drawdown. This strategy is the most optimal on BITSTAMP:BTCUSD in 1D timeframe with the following parameters :
ROC Length = 365
ROC Bubble Signal = 180
Stop Loss (in %) = 6
LONG CONDITION :
We are in a LONG position if ROC (365) > 0 for at least two days. This allows us to limit noise and irrelevant signals to ensure that the ROC remains positive.
SHORT CONDITION :
We are in a SHORT position if ROC (365) < 0 for at least two days. We also open a SHORT position when the speculative bubble is about to burst. If ROC (365) > 180, we're in a bubble. If the bubble has been in existence for at least a week and the ROC falls back below this threshold, we can expect the asset to return to reasonable prices, and thus a downward trend. So we're opening a SHORT position to take advantage of this upcoming decline.
EXIT RULES FOR WINNING TRADE :
The strategy is self-regulating. We don't exit a LONG trade until a SHORT signal has arrived, and vice versa. So, to exit a winning position, you have to wait for the entry signal of the opposite position.
RISK MANAGEMENT :
This strategy is very risky, and we can easily end up on the wrong side of the trade. That's why we're going to manage our risk with a Stop Loss, limiting our losses as a percentage of the trade's value. By default, this percentage is set at 6%. Each trade will therefore take a maximum loss of 6%.
If the SL has been triggered, it probably means we were on the wrong side. This is why we change the direction of the trade when a SL is triggered. For example, if we were SHORT and lost 6% of the trade value, the strategy will close this losing trade and open a long position without taking into account the ROC value. This allows us to be in position all the time and not miss the best opportunities.
MONEY MANAGEMENT :
The fixed ratio method was used to manage our gains and losses. For each gain of an amount equal to the value of the fixed ratio, we increase the order size by a value defined by the user in the "Increasing order amount" parameter. Similarly, each time we lose an amount equal to the value of the fixed ratio, we decrease the order size by the same user-defined value. This strategy increases both performance and drawdown.
NOTE :
Please note that the strategy is backtested from 2017-01-01. As the timeframe is 1D, this strategy is a medium/long-term strategy. That's why only 34 trades were closed. Be careful, as the test sample is small and performance may not necessarily reflect what may happen in the future.
Enjoy the strategy and don't forget to take the trade :)
Rate of Change (ROC)
Trade HourThis script is just finds the best hour to buy and sell hour in a day by checking chart movements in past
For example if the red line is on the 0.63 on BTC/USDT chart it mean the start of 12AM hour on a day is the best hour to buy (all based on
It's just for 1 hour time-frame but you can test it on other charts.
IMPORTANT: You can change time Zone in strategy settings.to get the real hours as your location timezone
IMPORTANT: Its for now just for BTC/USDT but you can optimize and test for other charts...
IMPORTANT: A green and red background color calculated for show the user the best places of buy and sell (green : positive signal, red: negative signals)
settings :
timezone : We choice a time frame for our indicator as our geo location
source : A source to calculate rate of change for it
Time Period : Time period of ROC indicator
About Calculations:
1- We first get a plot that just showing the present hour as a zigzag plot
2- So we use an indicator ( Rate of change ) to calculate chart movements as positive and negative numbers. I tested ROC is the best indicator but you can test close-open or real indicator or etc as indicator.
3 - for observe effects of all previous data we should indicator_cum that just a full sum of indicator values.
4- now we need to split this effects to hours and find out which hour is the best place to buy and which is the best for sell. Ok we should just calculate multiple of hour*indicator and get complete sum of it so:
5- we will divide this number to indicator_cum : (indicator_mul_hour_cum) / indicator_cum
6- Now we have the best hour to buy! and for best sell we should just reverse the ROC indicator and recalculate the best hour for it!
7- A green and red background color calculated for show the user the best places of buy and sell that dynamically changing with observing green and red plots(green : positive signal, red: negative signals) when green plot on 15 so each day on hour 15 the background of strategy indicator will change to 15 and if its go upper after some days and reached to 16 the background green color will move to 16 dynamically.
Rate Of Change Trend Strategy (ROC)This is very simple trend following or momentum strategy. If the price change over the past number of bars is positive, we buy. If the price change over the past number of bars is negative, we sell. This is surprisingly robust, simple, and effective especially on trendy markets such as cryptos.
Works for many markets such as:
INDEX:BTCUSD
INDEX:ETHUSD
SP:SPX
NASDAQ:NDX
NASDAQ:TSLA
RSI Rising Crypto Trending StrategyThis is crypto and stock market trending strategy designed for long timeframes such as 4h+
From my tests it looks like it works better to trade crypto against crypto than trading against fiat.
Indicators used:
RSI for rising/falling of the trend
BB sidemarket
ROC sidemarket
Rules for entry
For long: RSI values are rising, and bb and roc tells us we are not in a sidemarket
For long: RSI values are falling, and bb and roc tells us we are not in a sidemarket
Rules for exit
We exit when we receive an opposite direction.
Cuation: Because this strategy uses no risk management, I recommend you takje care with it.

Bagheri IG EtherThis is a technical trading strategy for Ethereum ( BINANCE:ETHUSDT ). We built and developed it on MetaEditor and optimized it with MetaTrader optimizer.
The main indicators are Donchian Channel, Oscillator of ROC, Bears Power, Balance of Power, and Simple Moving Average (SMA). Default values in the input panel are the best combination of these indicators, but you can change any of them and try it for better results.
Please notice that this strategy has been optimized on the 1-minute chart of Ethereum.
For each position, you can see the Take Profit (TP) and Stop Loss (SL) levels. Also, you can find the values of mentioned TP and SL in points from the input panel of the script.
Attention: The price of Ethereum has 2 decimal places.
Therefore, 3000 points for TP means 30 USDT for trading 1 BINANCE:ETHUSDT .
ROC_PA_Strategy (A3Sh)Hi there,
An experiment with rate of price change in combination with price averaging. The strategy is inspired by Price Change Scalping Strategy developed by Prosum Solutions and Scalping Dips On Trend Strategy developed by Coinrule. Both strategies look at the percentage of price change to open orders.
When the price drops beyond a specified percentage, a order entry threshold (yellow line) is setup. The order entry threshold is only active for a specified number of bars and will de-activate when not crossed within the specified number of bars. When the price drops further and crosses the entry threshold with a minimum of a specified percentage, a long position is entered. The same reverse logic (white line) used to close the long position.
I first ran the strategy without stop loss and take profit and that worked very well in a bullish market. I later added stop loss and take profit and that seems to work better in a side ways or bearisch market. There are a lot of tweaking possibilities in the settings.
In the settings you can specify the percentage of portfolio to use for each trade to spread the risk and for each order a trading fee of 0.075% is calculated.
Higher High / Lower Low StrategyThis is a very simple trend following strategy for Day Trading. The premise is to follow the Moving Average for the trend direction and buy/sell the dips and blips in the trend.
1. In an uptrend, when the candle action offers a "dip", or a lower high, the strategy will then buy on the close of the candle that breaks the high of the previous candle.
2. In a downtrend, when the candle action offers a"blip", or a higher low, the strategy will then sell on the close of the candle that breaks the low of the previous candle.
3. The strategy will go Long only or Short only, not both. It must be manually reversed in the settings when a new trend is established.
4. The start month and year allow you to backtest from then until now. It's not one month at a time.
5. The strategy uses a reversal of the Stochastic %K variable as the exist. The setting for Period K controls the exit for backtesting purposes.
6. The strategy uses a moving average to determine the trend. The setting for the Period MA controls the SMA.
7. The strategy has the option of filtering the number of trades based on the direction of the MACD and/or the Signal line. This can either reduce or increase the probability, and is highly dependent on the price action of the instrument.

GMS: RSI & ROC StrategyThis is a basic strategy like the RSI one I posted. This one adds in the Rate of Change indicator as well.
You can separate the two for RSI only and ROC only. Everything else is the same as the RSI strategy.
- Simple moving average trend filter.
- Simple moving average trade exit.
- Both long and short or each on it's own.
The source code should be open if you want to see it or modify it for your own project. I hope it helps!

Breakout Reversal Entry on WMA - NG1! Overnight ver 1This script is for learning purposes only
This strategy will plot arrows when price breaks so far above/below WMA. The strategy will enter when the price breaks away from WMA. All entries are reversals. Users can set WMA length and source; also the distance of the price away from WMA to enter. Adjustable bracket orders are placed for exit, with trailing stop or market stop choice. Last, users can set the time of day they want to enter a trade.
My Preference: I am testing this strategy on NG1! over night on 1 minute candle. with .003 on price drop/climb, I get entries almost every night. Also 10 tick stop and 5 tick profit seems backward to most, but with a high win/loss ratio, it performs quite well. Trailing stops generally help out as well.
INPUTS:
Length - The is the WMA length
Source - WMA source (High, Low, Open, Close...)
When Price Drops - This is the distance in ticks when the price drops away from WMA, an arrow is plotted, and reversal entry order is placed
When Price Climbs - Same as price drop, just in the opposite direction
Trailing Stop check box - Check if you want to place a trailing stop so many tick away from entry. Unchecked is Market (hard) stop so many ticks from entry.
Stop - Number of ticks away from entry a the stop or trailing stop is set (for NG 1 tick = $0.001)
Limit Out - Number of ticks away from entry a limit order is placed to take profits
Limit Time of day check box - check to use the time of day to limit what time of day order entry will occur.
Start/Stop Trades (Est Time) - First box is when the strategy will be allowed to start buying and stop is when the strategy will stop being allowed to buy. Sell orders continue until a stop or limit triggers an exit. These times are Eastern time zone
PROPERTIES:
Pyramiding - This feature will allow multiple entries to occur. If set to 1, the strategy should only trade 1 contract at a time. If set to 2, the strategy will enter a second order if entry requirements are met. This allows you to be holding 2 contracts. Basically on a good day, it will multiply your earnings, on a bad day, you'll just lose more. For testing, I keep this on 1.
TIPS:
- If you want to go long only, set "When Price Climbs" to an impossible number, like 10,000. It's not possible for NG to move $10 is a matter of minutes so it will not enter the market with a short order. Also keep in mind you can set different requirements for going long vs going short. If you think there is more pull on the market in a particular direction.
Cross Exchange ChangeThe indicator itself looks at different Exchanges and compares the change in price of them. If one spikes up, we go long with it as we assume our Exchange will follow. Vice versa for short.
Sb_Rate_Of_Change_BB_Band_strategy Version 1.0The strategy couples the concept of rate of change along with the Bollinger bands.
Along with it LazyBear's RSI/MFI with Volatility Indicator is also taken to reduce the number of trades and improve efficiency.
Strategy (in Layman terms):
If in the past 10 candles RSI/MFI with Volatility Indicator has printed a red/green colour and the roc has gone above/below the Bollinger bands then the short/long order is placed respectively.
Message if you think of any modifications/ enhancements/ any opportunities. :)

GBPNZD ROC RF count strategyCode takes six pairs that are highly correlated to GBPNZD and determines if their ROC's are increasing or decreasing. If a pair has an increasing ROC it is given a 1, if decreasing a -1. The numbers are all added up (this is similar to a count for counting cards in blackjack). If the count goes positive the strategy enters a long position, if negative a short position.
Code is tuned for GBPNZD for 1HR chart. Returns $97 on an initial balance of $100 (if I am reading Tradingview Tester correctly)
*** Should work for GBPJPY, its has the same correlated pairs
