Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is hugely important to many companies, and the B Corps list is an official recognition of firms that put CSR as high up their priority list as the bottom line. These companies – or subsidiaries they hold – have been officially recognized by the not-for-profit organization B Lab as meeting and maintaining its rigorous ethical standards. Although it has no legal status, this award is highly prized and highlights the social and environmental focus of the companies – and as there are less than 5,000 B Corps companies worldwide, they're part of an exclusive club.
