Beyonce sung about it and apparently women rule the world, but they can also positively affect a company's profits. Research by the Peterson Institute for Economics analyzed the results of more than 20,000 publicly traded companies around the world and found that having at least 30% of women in senior roles added 6% to the profit margins of a business. Separate research by S&P in 2019 showed that in the 24 months following their appointments, female CEOs saw a 20% increase in stock price momentum, while female CFOs saw 8% larger stock returns. Firms with female CFOs were more profitable, generating excess profits of $1.8 trillion, while firms with female CEOs and CFOs produced superior stock price performance compared to the market average. The numbers speak for themselves. So we've pulled together a list of the biggest female-led US companies.
This curated list features the top US-listed companies are led by female CEOs, with a market cap of at least 1bn. Note that this is not trading advice and you should always do your own research.
