Where do I find crypto market capitalization and dominance?
Symbols that show cryptocurrency market capitalization and dominance are available under the CRYPTOCAP: prefix on full-featured charts. These indices are calculated by TradingView. The data is also available on separate pages that show total market cap and dominance info along with the details.
What data is available and how is it calculated?
Market capitalization of a separate coin
Available as CRYPTOCAP:COIN in Symbol Search (replace COIN with the needed crypto, for example, BTC).
These symbols are calculated by the formula: symbol = cryptoasset's last price * circulating supply
Currently market capitalization is calculated for the top-50 coins from Crypto Coins Screener (excluding DeFi category) and additionally for the top-50 coins from the DeFi category.
Accumulated market capitalization by several segments of crypto coins
- TOTAL shows the total market capitalization of the top-125 cryptocurrencies from Crypto Coins Screener
- TOTAL2 shows the total market capitalization of the top-125 cryptocurrencies, excluding BTC
- TOTAL3 shows the total market capitalization of the top-125 cryptocurrencies, excluding BTC and ETH
- TOTALDEFI shows the total market capitalization of the top-125 DeFi cryptocurrencies (these symbols contain the DeFI category in Crypto Coins Screener)
- OTHERS shows the total market capitalization of the top-125 cryptocurrencies, excluding BTC and some other top cryptocurrencies. You can see the list of excluded coins on the cryptocurrencies dominance page. The excluded coins are all options except the Others itself
Dominance symbols
Dominance is calculated for every CRYPTOCAP: symbol and can be found by adding the .D suffix to the desired symbol: CRYPTOCAP:COIN.D or CRYPTOCAP:TOTAL.D, etc.
These symbols are calculated by the formula: symbol.D = symbol / TOTAL * 100%
For example, the formula for BTC.D: BTC.D = BTC / TOTAL * 100%
