These countries are in similar stages of development and are believed to be future dominant players in the global economy. The fund covers roughly 85% of the market in each country. Country and sector weights can vary significantly over time, as their respective fortunes could rise and fall. The index is reviewed quarterly starting every February with semi-annual index reviews in May and November. Prior to March 10, 2022, the fund was called iShares MSCI BRIC ETF. The fund no longer holds Russian securities.
