Franklin Ethereum ETF (EZET) is an Ethereum-focused ETF sponsored by Franklin Resources, Inc., one of the world's largest investment managers. EZET aims to reflect the performance of Ether's price, minus operational expenses. The fund tracks Ethereum using the CME CF Ether-Dollar Reference Rate New York Variant, which aggregates data from selected Ether exchanges meeting specific criteria (transparency, strong trading activity, compliance, etc.). EZET prioritizes asset protection primarily through offline cold storage, reducing cyber theft risk. The fund was launched on July 23, 2024.
