GLTR is the first broad basket of physical precious metals. Unlike most other products (and its benchmark) that only provide exposure to gold and silver, the fund holds physical gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. Custodied by JP Morgan Chase Bank, the gold and silver bullion are held in London, while the platinum and palladium bullion are held in London or Zurich. NAV is determined using the London Metal Price, so expect a close relationship with spot prices. GLTR is structured as a grantor trust preventing trustees from lending the underlying metals. On April 27, 2018, Aberdeen purchased the fund from issuer, ETF Securities.
