Its underlying index primarily includes municipal bonds issued by state or local governments or agencies whose interest is federal tax-exempt and AMT-free. Eligible securities must have a rating of at least investment grade as determined by an NRSRO and should be denominated in USD. A minimum par amount of $25 million and a minimum term to maturity of at least one month are also required. To track the index, the fund employs a sampling strategy. The index is weighted by market value and rebalances monthly.
