NVDA Nvidia positioned to weather Trump tariffs, chip demand ‘off the charts,’ says Altimeter’s Gerstner
Altimeter Capital CEO Brad Gerstner said Thursday that he is moving out of the “bomb shelter” with Nvidia and into a position of safety, expecting that the chipmaker is positioned to withstand President Donald Trump’s widespread tariffs.
“The growth and the demand for GPUs is off the charts,” he told CNBC’s “Fast Money Halftime Report,” referring to Nvidia’s graphics processing units that are powering the artificial intelligence boom. He said investors just need to listen to commentary from OpenAI, Google and Elon Musk.
NVDA Make Recession Great Again.. Make Red Great Again. Make People Starve Again. Make People Lose Saving Again. Make Billionaires Make Billions Again. Make Retailers Lose Again.
NVDA For those who wasn’t around on August 5, 2024 when it fell down to the low 90s that was a glitch in the Japan financial market, which is why it bounced back to the mid $120s in less than two weeks. So thinking that it would drop down that low right now, would be a possible reach because it had 2 other times to go there and never did! JS
NVDA If you’re long, consider buying some here but keep some on the side to buy into the low 90s just in case.
I really don’t know if this is a ploy to bring others to the table or if Trump is just this dumb. If it’s the later or the world calls the bluff, expect stagflation worse than the 70s. Interest rates will need to go to 12 to 14% to fix it.
