Public Storage: REITs as a Market HedgeI've been trying to rebuild my portfolio over the past week, and PSA is looking like a good REIT to seek alpha against this prevailing market headwind. REITs are good because landlords collect rent no matter what tariffs or any other market factors look like. Public Storage has a customer base with a fairly inelastic demand, and they have an excellent contingency plan in the case tenants don't pay (they auction the contents starting at the back payments and go up). All the technicals look good. The price is starting to walk up the top Bollinger band again, RSI is rising but not yet overbought, MACD is rising with a rising histogram showing accelerating momentum, and ADX above 20 with DI+ above ADX and DI- shows a trend forming. Based on the technicals today alone, it looks like the big money traders are keeping their capital parked here and buyers are having to bid them out of their positions. This looks good for a safe harbor investment in the current circumstances.

Defined RR - WIth Strength to Support itThoughts: While the RR here is well defined something to consider is the follow through going forward due to complete retrace of the recent RSI breakout we just had. I Suspect this will limit the size of the next move to occur; however I have only limited data on the subject matter. Above the marked RSI level one might adopt the thesis that a new upward leg is beginning as a result of the newly begun RSI cycle. The reasoning behind the new RSI cycle, or rather "strength cycle", is due to overcoming the RSI level that led to the original break down in strength. Above this level the Stock in the near term should be in bull territory.

PSA Hound of the Baskervilles signalAfter the fed meeting on Wednesday announced they would not continue to raise rates, PSA zoomed to new highs. Ignoring the MACD and RSI divergence. This is a rare signal named Hound of the Baskervilles signal after the Sherlock Holmes novel. It is an incredibly strong signal that indicates something fundamentally is changing in the market. In this case it seems the market is bullish on PSA after being reassured in the short term that the fed would not raise rates. I read this as an extremely bullish indicator.
