Is China's year of the Ox is in fact a Bear?Using my favorite chart for bear spotting, the 1W chart with Bollinger Bands, it is easy to find bears in sight below the BB median for for months. It is very rare that a month would pass with such a setting and the market doesn't turn bearish. It happened, though, recently with the COVID-19 lockdowns in March last year, and what we thought would be a bear turned out to be a raging ox. But what about the current downturn? Using Fib retracements across different timeframes, I did a comparison between the bull market of this and last year and the one from 2015, after which a bear sustained almost a year. I picked this bull and not the one in 2018 since the 2015 one is similar in structure and magnitude to the last one. Moreover, I added a retracement to the whole bull market since 2015 to have a clearer historical context. The purpose for using Fib retracements was to analyze the apparently hidden support we are currently at, which proved to be resilient so far. The analysis shows tight support across different retracements of last year's bull, tighter than the support at the similar range in 2015, which was easily missed. This could partially explain the current resilience but it doesn't rule out a sustained bear this year. The analysis also show main level, which, judging from the history of 2016's bear, proved pivotal. For this year, the pivotal points are the current 16900 range, 15900, 14900, and 13600, the last of which would probably be the end of the bear, if sustained. Fundamentals, of course, play a big role in the direction from the current level, and one of the biggest fundamentals is the global economy and its recovery. To see how tightly coupled the world economy is, you can add the OANDA:US30USD . DowJones is more stable than both China30 and NSDQ100, and usually acts as moving average of sorts. Here, you can view the China30's bear of 2016 as a mere correction towards DJ's level. If that's true this time as well, then we are in the sustainable level for now and the namesake of the year could prove truthful.

The calculation is very "clumsy" just the sum of the profits of all the ideas, based on this indicator, you can more accurately assess the risks when working with my ideas of this sector. New trading Strategy upgrade -Hi guys, this is my idea only. My main trading strategies are on trend and swing trading and my positions are on H4 and day chart only. I don't do intraday trading in M1-M5 chart as it is very headache to keep my eyes on the screen all the time with little profits. We open and hold positions for at least 1-3 weeks for a target of at least 20% profits on each trading. First country to recover from COVID-19CHINA I am bullish on the country, many of its stocks, ETFs and obviously in some way, I am biased so do your own due diligence before following. China's story is way beyond what many read on the news, whatever you can get hold of. You gotta step into China yourself , live there for a while and experience the life there ! It's changes is so dynamic and fast paced that to keep track of it is a mind bogging exercise and its grey rules and boundaries make it harder for you to gather hard data. I love to take public transport, buses, trains to observe , to talk to the locals and from there I gather my own intelligence. Some of course find this method out-dated, unreliable but thus far it has served me pretty well. I am only a small retail trader not a hedge fund house with huge capital to invest in a research team of analysts with MBA and chartered financial analysts. Oh, I also like to watch the Chinese movies which reflect the thoughts and ideologies of the Chinese people in some way. Some stories are deeply embedded in the ancient chinese culture , Confucius, food and its people. It is rich and worth exploring......... Focus on what you want NOT what you do not want - many have shared with me about the terrible things the chinese government do to HK people, Taiwan, etc. It is beyond me since I cannot talk to the CCP people and every country has its own political agenda to pursue. Then there are articles about the unscrupulous businessmen who manufacture anything fake in China just to make money like plastic as noodles , mixed ingredients in baby infant powder. The list goes on........ Trust me, if you do a detailed search on other countries, you too would find these culprits too. China being the 2nd largest country would have a higher number of incidents purely from a large base to start with ............ I prefer to focus on what the government is doing right now - alleviating poverty for the people, building better infrastructure, upskill the minority and making great efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Maybe to the activists, this ain't enough but as onlookers and outsiders, isn't it always easier to criticise and put the blame on others ? Same for trading and investment, when we lose money, how often do we reflect on our trades, our reasons for taking the positions rather than pointing fingers at the broker, the noises out there ,etc ?
