MRNA vaccine data is 94.5% effective!MRNA vaccine data is 94.5% effective! I'm not going to try to develop an analysis on MRNA until people's emotions chill out in the market. This sure seems like ground hogs day, almost identical to last Monday. I'm actually writing this post to share a word of caution. Pay attention and watch out for a bull trap across many sectors, including MRNA stock. The time to get in long on this trade was Friday actually, lol. This morning prices will most likely be the peak for many stocks prices for the rest of the week. Be on the lookout for quick rotations to DIS, SPG & KSS and the like. Remember, after the elation today, we still have record breaking covid19 cases day after day heading into the winter and these vaccines won't be widely distributed for many months. And quite likely, just like last week, they'll be a rotation back to the stay at home stocks by maybe Wednesday. All in all, for me personally, I'm not going to try to catch a falling knife on dropping stocks or time an entry on spiking stocks this morning. I'm going to wait and see, let the euphoria calm down first. If anything, strangles are probably the best candidate on a lot of stocks, due to a lot of price movement. I would imagine smart money bought this a long time ago (NV slacked off to nil at around 18 to 25 dollars) OBV is high/Positive volume/PV is high Positive volume represents those who buy on up days which is usually the general public NV (negative volume represents folks who bought at the low or on down days.) NV kicked in a small amount when price was threatened at 43ish/Smart money does not buy here, but does not mean the trade is over...Just means be careful because they have already made a ton of money and will stick you with the losses at the top. If you got in this a long time ago..then you do not need to be so careful (o: On-balance volume (OBV) is a technical trading momentum indicator that uses volume flow to predict changes in stock price.

BioNTech's vaccine, for example, must be transported at minus 70 degrees Celsius, though Moderna said on Monday it can ship its candidate in normal refrigerators. Together with Pfizer Inc's vaccine, also shown to be more than 90% effective, and pending more safety data and regulatory review, the United States could have two vaccines authorized for emergency use in December with as many as 60 million doses of vaccine available by the year's end. Next year, the U.S. government could have access to more than 1 billion doses just from the two vaccine makers, more than needed for the country's 330 million residents. The vaccines, both built using new technology known as messenger RNA or mRNA, represent powerful new tools to fight a pandemic that has infected 54 million people worldwide and killed 1.3 million. The news also comes at time when COVID-19 cases are soaring, hitting new records in the United States and pushing some European countries back into lockdowns. "We are going to have a vaccine that can stop COVID-19," Moderna President Stephen Hoge said in a telephone interview. Moderna's interim analysis was based on 95 infections among trial participants who received either a placebo or the vaccine. Of those, only five infections occurred in those who received the vaccine, which is administered in two shots 28 days apart. A key advantage of Moderna's vaccine is that it does not need ultra-cold storage like Pfizer's, making it easier to distribute. Moderna expects it to be stable at standard refrigerator temperatures of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius (36 to 48°F) for 30 days and it can be stored for up to 6 months at -20 degrees Celsius.

Moderna leading healthcare outperformanceIn our Monday pre market newsletter, Flight Path, we highlighted the healthcare sector as showing signs of outperformance. We talked about PFE, MRNA and the less popular NVAX. Novavax is still in its “NoGo” trend, but continues to ride the zero line on the oscillator. We will watch that closely.
Both Pfizer and Moderna saw nice jumps in price after the good vaccine news this week and are now in new “Go” trends. PFE has since pulled back a little and we will look to see if it can find support on the GoNoGo Oscillator at the zero line to maintain the trend. The chart of Moderna, above, has seen a sustained move up since the beginning of the week since re-flagging a “Go” trend. This recent rally has been accompanied by heavy volume, as we can see in the dark blue of the GoNoGo Oscillator. Momentum is now quite overbought, so we will look to see if price will pause or if it can continue to forge higher.
