Avantium NV is a pioneering commercial-stage company focused on renewable & circular polymer materials. It develops and commercialises innovative technologies for the production of materials based on sustainable carbon feedstocks, i.e. carbon from biomass or carbon from the air (CO2). The company operates through the following segments: R&D Solutions, Renewable Chemistries, and Renewable Polymers. The R&D Solutions segment provides advanced catalysis research and development services, systems, and testing to global customers. The Renewable Chemistries segment develops PlantMEG, a plant-based alternative for fossil-based mono-ethylene glyco. The Renewable Polymers segment focuses on the commercialization of YXY plants-to-plastics technology. Avantium was founded in February 2000 and is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
