GME GME short volume was +141% yesterday. not a good sign for the days ahead. but maybe this will be the 2nd time in the last 29 that's happened when the stock won't be lower than here in the days ahead...GME this is the first day since Dec 29th that I'd say I'm mildly bullish on GME. I'd still need another up day to say that with any conviction, though. truth be told, the real reading I get is neutral, but usually when what I look at swings from bearish to neutral, it goes back to bullish before bearish. until there is true bullish confirmation, though, i have to defer to the previous trend. this is a POSSIBLE transition phase over the next couple of days.good news today - 1st close above the yellow downtrend line in over a month. it will need to hold above that tomorrow or this is a potential fakeout. bad news today - still didn't close of above the closing high from rumor day 1.0 last Monday. it has tried to and failed 4x since then, and that's not a great sign. putting in a higher high above 27.12 tomorrow would be bullish. a close back below the downtrend line would obviously not be.
it will be interesting to see what short volume did today. if that's over 100% higher than yesterday that is not a positive and should probably be respected, given its track record. there was a strong burst of selling 9-10 min before the close but it's impossible to know if that was big profit taking or a big short being put on. neither is a great sign, but I'll wait to see the short volume numbers before deciding.
especially with tomorrow being the end of the week, what color tomorrow's candle ends up will likely determine if there is a trend change afoot or if bias stays negative. i'd wait for that question to be resolved before I committed to a position in either direction.
