The Pawnbroking segment provides loan secured against a collateral product, which include precious metals, gold, diamonds and watches. The Gold Purchasing segment purchases the goods for cash on the spot. The Retail segment offers cash for new or second-hand jewelry purchased from third parties by the Group. The Foreign Exchange segment is involved in currency service where the Group earns a margin when selling or buying foreign currencies. The Other Services segment is composed of third-party cheque encashment, buyback, foreign exchange currency service, western union commission and prepaid debit card product. The company was founded by Charles James Thompson and Walter Harvey on July 1, 1897 and is headquartered in Sutton, the United Kingdom.
