Smoke 'em if you got 'em - Tobacco Safe Haven$MO - Altria - 6.96% $PM - Philip Morris - 4.48% $BTI - British American Tobacco - 7.92% ($MO+$PMI)/SPY - U.S Tobacco Stocks vs. SPY - When investors grow wary of markets they find comfort in Tobacco Stocks. With general markets facing increasing headwinds, investors may prefer this consumer staple. Even though, these companies are tobacco companies; their future is a non-combustable alternative. Add high inflation and Tobacco is an unusual position to profit. High Inflation doesn't greatly affect Tobacco companies' bottom line. The final pricing of tobacco products is influenced by tax and regulatory fees. Roughly 70-80% of the final cost. An increase in costs due to supply chain issues does not get passed on to consumers in a meaningful way. High dividend yields and potential price appreciation make these names look attractive. Many of these Tobacco stocks peaked in 2017 and have corrected to the covid bottom in March 2020. Since March 2020, they have been trending upwards.

$MO Weekly ChartMO is giving me the same feelings when I saw CVS coming back from low 50's into 60s and 70s. Got over $110 before pulling back recently. The only issue I have with cigarette companies is the regulation. Menthol cigarettes get banned for "attracting kids due to the flavor" when no kid smokes vs vapes these days. MO has not made good investments in JUUL and in medical marijuana. Buying at the top basically for both. However, it has paid its price and I would love to see this keep moving higher in 2022 and 2023. Good luck! This is not intended as a recommendation to buy or sell. Buy and hold to the moonWhich scenerio for MO? In general we can look forward MO wil be ABCD harmonic pattern. Now we can refine Wave I and Wave II been finished and forming wave III. And we can draw a suitable long term channel. -The price now will be swing in triangle pattern and find energy to breakout. This is the first potential buying entry (Pocket Pivot). -The price will aim to 52$, this is a long and sustainable resistence, it need more energy to break this. When accumulating enough, the price will break and conquer this resistence, this one will be solid support in the future. And this will also be a potential second buying entry (traditional breaking out entry). Wait n see! See you in the next 8 years!

$MOIf you zoom out to the monthly timeframe you’ll notice Altria Group has been struggling for the past 3 years, only this year has it started to pick up. Altria forecast full-year adjusted earnings per share of between $4.56 and $4.62. Which is a bit below Wall Street's forecast for $4.60. For the second quarter, Altria earned $1.23, up 12.8%. Sales grew 8.9% to $6.936 billion. Altria has faced questions about cigarette demand amid rising health consciousness. While customers clung to their smoking habits last year amid the stress of the coronavirus pandemic, struggles continue at vaping startup Juul which received a big investment from Altria. However, Altria's efforts to become less of a traditional cigarette company have hit a snag. The company said Philip Morris USA, which it owns, had delayed further expansion of its Iqos and Marlboro HeatStick heat-not-burn tobacco products. Altria cited the "uncertainty" stemming from a patent infringement case as the reason. But as we turn to the technical analysis, $MO has formed a symmetrical triangle that looks ready to break on the daily. We also have the MACD above 50 and the RSI looking bullish. Before getting in this trade, wait for the break to the upside or downside. Keep this on your watchlist!
