Possible Recovery Ahead! $SQQQ AnalysisThere might be a sign of hope in the near future!
$SQQQ has rallied hard today, showing true weakness in the overall tech market. Although this rally crushed a ton of growth equities, there are a few critical things to note here.
$SQQQ is showing signs of a bearish formation on the 1-month (triple top chart pattern), and various catalysts regarding vaccine rollout success and employment levels rising can start to show signs of true economic recovery, not just within the stock market.
Time will tell in regards to what happens in the short term, but I personally see another rally once more people receive their vaccines and we return back to the workforce as usual.
GLTA!
SQQQ trade ideas
Bulls and BearsI recently closed out my SQQQ position. I walked away with a 12% gain in three days. Could it have been more, of course. The market started to bounce and I was giving back my gains, then I remembered...
Pigs get Slaughtered
As you can see the Nasdaq is coming into it's trend line support, I am going to sleep on this one and trade it. We could be setting up one heck of a squeeze or we could be walking off a cliff to the 12,000 area.
$SQQ Proshares Ultra Short ETF. Inverted head and shouldersWith the recent selloff on the Nasdaq this ETF looks like it's building an inverted head and shoulders. Neckline of $15 can be watched. A break could signal a move up to $17.90. This ETF is 3x leveraged, so be aware of the risk in buying this. I have a position and looking to add with weakness.
The nasdaq has a slight bubble, protect the downside with SQQQThis is not investment advice, do your own homework and evaluate how much you can tolerate risking.
SQQQ is triple leveraged to the downside on the QQQ, which is the ETF that directly tracks the NASDAQ. As 2021 has begun to play out, it has become more and more apparent that these overvalued tech and software companies are out way past their skis in terms of multiples.
SQQQ provides the perfect protection to these lofty tech stocks as VOLQ is not available on most platforms. VOLQ is the NASDAQ's Vix, which would be my preferred way of protection for the downside but unfortunately is not available for trade on the brokerages I use.
So essentially for every 1% that the QQQ (proxy for the NASDAQ:NDX ) falls, SQQQ rises by 3%. Since it is so heavily inversely correlated, it makes for a great hedge.
When implementing a strategy such as this into your portfolio, I would recommend starting with a meager 1-3% position and no more than 5%. Another solid alternative strategy that is a good permanent piece of a stable portfolio is a market neutral fund.
First time SQQQ above linear regression channel since Nov 10thJust an interesting observation. SQQQ has been in a very tight linear regression channel sine November. Today was the first time that it made a clear close above this channel. Could just be a good opportunity to buy NDX or it could be a more bearish sign for the NDX.
SQQQ - You are hereI've surmised about SQQQ and HDGE before but just to reflect... We will soon be one year and 12x away from the last peak in SQQQ. How much longer can this bull run go before a significant setback? When Kramer says 'buy buy buy' that's when we head for the exits? Or else, this is just wishful thinking? You decide.
