CIC Insurance Group Ltd. engages in the provision of insurance and financial services. It operates through the following segments: Long-term Business, General Insurance Business, Asset Management, and Other. The Long-term Business segment deals with the underwriting of risks relating to death of an insured person and includes contracts subject to the payment of premiums for a long-term dependent on the termination or continuance of the life of an insured person. The General Insurance Business segment consists of motor, medical, fire, personal accident, theft, public liability, marine, engineering, miscellaneous accident, and others. The Asset Management segment is composed of fund management, advisory services businesses, and investments. The Other segment includes the operations of CIC Africa Uganda, CIC Africa Malawi, and CIC Africa South Sudan. The company was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.
