Zone ~ 112 the price has formed double tops and false break (MACD showed bullish divergence as well) so we can use 112.86 as a supporting line for our short. 69.35 can be a good first target point because there's likely that this downtrend might have a 5th wave failure.

Piercing candle pattern on a support level. Piercing (line) pattern is a 2 candle pattern that begins with a red candle. So basically the bulls opened on day 2 of the pattern beneath the low of the first candle, yet were able to fight enough to regain a lot of ground back and closed over the prior day's close. Unfortunately the next day the bears took price down again despite the fact that price basically opened on the 3rd day at close to the close of the green candle.
Red candles have the open at the top and the close at the bottom of the candle. A green candle has the open at the bottom and the close at the top. The wicks, shadows, represent the high and the low of the candle and are the same for both red and green candles.

CVX 🌦This is my forecast leading up to earnings. I might just paper trade this on interactive brokers. The hefty dividend yield coupled with the beta less than 1 isn't sufficiently enticing for me to go through with buying calls. The stars don't always align. This is why I follow certain step to ascertain the likelihood of making a profit with options. Although these steps aren't statically rigorous they have helped me develop an efficient methodology.
Everything starts with the pattern then we look for beta that is at least one, Market cap > $15 B and dividend yield < 2%. The next step is to identify the IV percentile, I like to use market chameleon. Reminder you want to be buying options in a low IV environment and selling options in a high one. Next you select the previous high or previous low depending on if it's a call or a put you are buying to open and you use that high or low as your strike price. These are my steps for buying to open calls and puts.

Strongest resistance is at the 103/105 zone but it would be normal if price drops and bounces off the 99/101 zone too.
