EB trade ideas
EB - JULY 24 MATrend Unsustainable Momentum- Aligns with larger bearish downtrend
- What I am worried is that tomorrow market is closed for the 4th of July and market opens on Friday to the jobs report. I hope I made the right decision.
- I will peg this as a bad trade as I should not trade because Friday is a high impact event
MATrend Unsustainable Momentum (Systematic) ⏪
The strategy identifies stocks (Tech sector ) that follows the larger market regime's momentum of the day and because they are unable to maintain it price breaks down quickly
Tight stops aligned to the price behaviour we are trying to capture. Which is a rapid break of the momentum.
5/2/24 - $eb - swinging long here into print5/2/24 - vrockstar - like the setup long here into print. 1) trends probably a 50/50 but 2) not a "discretionary" seller but more a platform for discretionary choice which is an interesting product in this environment esp wrt speech about 2H etc. 2) not really a burner much at all, and beyond healthy cash balance so no dilution/ raise/ sustainability q's about the BS 3) "growing" - double digits+ which isn't really one i'd typically LT hold/ do much more work on but for a swing here at low multiples on revenue (which i do for higher GM co's/ platforms)... "attractive". think the risks to the upside outweigh the downside. was tempted to swing on some 5C's for 5/17... but figure the shares will offer me more flexibility should a. something go wrong/ to cut AH or size up and b. equally monetize part of position AH or even sell the more expensive 5C's after hours to "exit" at a more locked in px. lmk what you think if diff of opinion on this one
EB: broke long-term resistanceA price action above 8.50 supports a bullish trend direction.
Further bullish confirmation for a break above 9.00.
The target price is set at 9.50 (just above its 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level.
The stop-loss price is set at 8.00 (close to the level of the long-term resistance, now acting as support.
Close testing its 200-day simple moving average.
EB - texbook chartI went through a lot of charts this weekend. Most of them look choppy and ugly which is not surprising with this choppy market.
Picked this one which looks really healthy.
Just left the March-to-September downtrend, went above the strong level at 19.
Then made a healthy pull back, still hold arond the level. Yesterday - nice breakout.
MACD. RSI - positive
Weekly chart: breaking out from a wedge
Stop loss 18.40
Target 25
$EB Eventbrite - Falling Wedge Breakout$EB Eventbrite - Possible falling wedge breakout today after holding strong support just under $19 last week.
Great "re-opening play" in my opinion with a lot of pent-up demand for in-person events heading into the summer months.
Near term target: $26-$28 range by 2nd half of June
Note: This is NOT investment advice. Educational only.
EB Looking Like Good Buy, But After Price RetractmentEventbrite's stock has been steadily gaining this past week. Been following this channel, and is about to hit the peak. RSI also indicates that it's close to being overbought. I would get in on this stock after the price drops again and RSI goes back to normal levels. I've also considered holding long as a COVID-reopening play, but the predictable movement makes this a good short-term play also.
Price Action & Psychology - Traders Action Zone, Relat. StrengthHello !
Key points :
Significant support zone : That zone has been significant since the stock market crash in March. It acted as resistance, aswell as a small consolidation area (02/06 - 03/06).
It is showing relative strength : Considering yesterday's correction of the overall market, the behavior of individual stocks tell us how strong they are.
Price rejection + volume : They day before yesterday, the stock gaps down a lot, triggers stop-losses and panic selling, but eventually, it got bought up (5 or 15 min chart).
Traders Action Zone : To define that zone, I'm using the 30 EMA and the 10 SMA . Basically, the TAZ is pretty useful when stocks are trending. It defines a zone where the general trend resumes after a "breath-taking" pullback.
Traders Action Zone
As you can see on the left side of the chart, it is considered that whenever the 10 SMA is above the 30 EMA , we look for opportunities to go long and vice-versa. After some time, the price over-extends and retraces in the TAZ. Obviously, it should be combined with other signals, in this case what gives us a signal is the relative strength of the stock, aswell as the signficant zone.
Here's an example on SPY :

EventBrite is ready for that $11 ShortFirst off, please don't take anything I say seriously or as financial advice. As always, this is on an opinion based basis. That being said, I think the wave for people to ride for EventBrite is still continuing and it is about to hit the $11 price mark real soon. Indicators are pointing towards a buy, and the supply & demand curve will start being readjusted as places open back up. It is in the digital category as well, and the CEO/management team both seems to know what they are doing from an executive level and operational standpoint.
Dark days ahead for EventbriteRead latest news here
The CEO, Julia Hartz said :It is a fundamental need for humans to gather, as we have been doing for thousands of years, and we will be there to power that connection.”
She is right but the million dollar question on everyone's mind is WHEN will that be ? If post Covid-19 and people returning back to office still have to obey social distancing, wear face mask, etc, that itself is already a hassle, necessary no doubt.
Magnify that 10,000 times to a large event where hundreds of thousands of people congregate but they still have to obey these rules. That means security has to ensure a maximum number of people allowed each time in the event hall. That will deter many who have to queue to get in.
Such inconvenience will be costly to the business executive who probably fly from different countries to attend this events and this preventive measure may be dampen the mood. And people will be wondering for safety reasons, can they get on to Zoom to achieve the same results ?
Now that the price is 1/4 of its peak price, it is cheap but cheap can get cheaper and I see no incentives to long this stock at this moment. Also, ancillary to this is business travelling by air. The latter has to be resolved first as many airlines are now suffering. Without air transportation, Eventbrite can organise the best conference, get the best keynote speakers but participants will have a challenge to attend.
And participants are the revenue generators for Eventbrite, without it , they cannot run their business.
