GM Short Opportunity On the chart, we can see the price broke key level that was acting as a support. Now we are expecting that this level to act as a resistance. Therefore we recommend to enter short position. We recommend to place the stop loss above the resistance. Target : 31,30 MACD looks bearish which is our confirmation for this short position. Good luckShortby vf_investmentUpdated 665
GM Long Options StrategyHeritage brands are making a comeback, as if they ever really went away. General Motors makes Buicks, Cadillacs, Chevrolets, GMCs as well as vehicles under the Holden, Baojun, and Wuling brands. Known for being reliable, they are a go-to for automotive-dependent businesses such as daily rental car companies, commercial fleet customers, leasing companies, and governments. Even though Detroit-based GM is more than a century old (founded in 1908), their newest offerings include safety and security services, automatic crash response, roadside/crisis/emergency assistance, navigation, remote control applications. They are also developing self-driving technology, and a highly anticipated electric pickup truck. Other areas of business are vehicle financing (through GM Financial) and subscription services in their app ecosystem. They also re-instated dividend payouts last year, adding to investor interest. Technically, it has a couple of indicators going for it: a bullish flag, double bottom, some previous consolidation into a falling wedge. But that gap down... a good dip or a harbinger? And how to navigate this choppy stock market? This protective options strategy makes up to 18% (12% annualized) and allows GM stock price to fall up to 22% (to below $27.98) before you start to lose any money. Buy 1 $35 call Sell 1 $40 call Sell 1 $28 put All expiring 6/21/24 Capital required: $2798Longby oliveinvest2
GM Forecast It seems that before you trade a stock, there is a process for stock selection and a bit of research that needs to happen. It looks as if a person cannot pick any random stock he or she likes. Anyway, GM seems to have some momentum going on. I see what seems to be a head-and-shoulder pattern. I never used it, but it looks interesting, and that one appears to be okay. Well, there appears to be a QML level too, indicating a strong bearish move, and now the price will probably go up to retest the neckline lows before it falls again. It is bullish for now, with a bearish bias of 37. -Alright, that was fun for stocks, it is different, it feels different, it gaps up and down and so, the entry price is therefore sensitive. . I made this in spring I saw speed fans and also saw a gann square back then. So I fitted it. It bounced off the golden lines nicely. And respected the fans and rings almost perfectly at times. I made this in like March-may by Stocta0
What’s Next for General Motors?General Motors has moved sideways for months, and now traders may look for the automaker to test support. The key pattern on today’s chart is the channel between roughly $31 and $42. GM hit the top of the channel in September and tested the low in mid-October. Prices peaked near that resistance again last month, but remain about $5 above the bottom. That may create the potential for a move within the range. Next, the stock has slid along its falling 200-day simple moving average (SMA). Does that suggest the longer-term downtrend remains in effect? GM also broke the 50-day SMA today, a potential sign of the intermediate-term trend turning bearish. Finally, MACD has turned increasingly negative since December began. GM (Range Trade)$41.48 to $42.36 were two recent noteable highs since September. Price rejected the $41.50 area twice in November. Daily is oversold so we still need to be a bit careful here for the type of range trade we are looking for. Might wait til the fed decision and cpi reports pass next week to get a second look.Shortby Redimere_911
General Motors (GM): EVs Could Be ElectrifyingHard to imagine buying an auto stock at a time of rising recession fears, higher (and likely even higher) interest rates, and growing geopolitical tensions. But many analysts believe GM's push into the EV space with a focus on vertically integrating the battery and precious metal feedstocks required to power these vehicles will put them in the sweet spot ahead of Ford (F) and others. Some analysts challenge that notion and highlight the newly elected Republican majority in the House which could become a headwind to implementation of the massive tax-incentives recently enacted to push the transition away from fossil fuels. The chart is quite telling. GM fell over 50% from the start of the year to recent lows, and has made a couple of attempts to retrace that selloff, stopping out at the Fib 23%. But the recent upswing in the 20dma above the 200dma has bulls taking note. I have no current position in GM, though I do own Ford in an investment account, partly as a turnaround play (new CEO, cost controls, etc), partly as a dividend play and partly on the EV play (with the F150 an already hot must-have in the marketplace!). But contemplating adding GM. If I didn't have such a strong negative view on the overall market, I might pull the trigger here. But more likely, I'm waiting for a pullback before initiating. (BTW, my overall market view is driven by the view that current valuations and earnings estimates do not adequately account for the wage/price spiral that I believe is already underway and is being missed by the Fed. Just as "transitory" was the Fed's mistake of 2021, ignoring the 'wage/price spiral' will be their mistake of 2022). Any thoughts???? (NOTE: THIS IS NOT ADVICE IN ANY WAY! ONLY FOOD FOR THOUGHT AND DISCUSSION!)by trader_investr2
$GM - Mini Wyckoff bout to drop.Wyckoff accumulation about to be completed. The last leg should be 1 big fast drop down to maybe $35 as a start by the 9'th or 16'th in Dec and then some more accumulation around that area before there's a final drop to $33 ish by EOM Dec. That's all.Shortby leenixusu3

$GM: Interesting weekly uptrendI like the setup in $GM, which I think can move fast here if EV names gain traction. I'm already long $F from lower in my long term account, but want to add a short/mid term position in $GM here. Valuation is not as interesting and I don't particularly love Mary Barra's execution or her being prone to corrupt political shenanigans with Unions and Biden backing her, but well, the setup is good and likely will produce good returns within 8 weeks. The company is highly leveraged, and revenue growth is low, but seems to have bottomed out. Price to sales suggests it's cheap, same as earnings yield which sits at 14% ish. They have been burning cash though, but perhaps their cheap EVs and the Silverado truck do well going forward. I'm not likely to participate for longer than short and mid term technical setups suggest we should remain involved with the stock though. Best of luck! Ivan Labrie.Longby IvanLabrie5

Where to place your stop loss-a close above theThe big question in every trader mind, where to place my STP loss. most common trading strategy calls to place the stop loss above a SZ (Supply zone) or Below a DZ (Demand Zone), right that seems easy but its not. ask any trader & he will recount stories of price violating the SZ, & the stop loss is triggered the loss is carried (hopefully small) only to have the price reverse fortune. This is exactly what occurred in this short trade on NYSE:GM (General Motors); on the left hand side we have the long-term chart (W) & on the right hand side we have the trade chart(D). The Long-term chart is clearly in downtrend. the price came into the Lower High of the (W) downtrend. a short was opened @39.20 with a stop loss above the LH of the (W) downtrend slightly above @41.00 many odds are in the favour of taking this trade. What is interesting, on the right hand side, (D) chart, the price violated the LH supply zone & closed above the supply zone (The red circle) ; my trade plan calls to close a trade after a candle stick * Violates a Supply zone by 10% * candle stick closes above the SZ Both conditions were met here, yet I did not close the trade & waited for a confirmation. yes i violated my own trade plan. Trading is fluid & my trade plan is ever changing. I closed the short today @32 mark. No permanent was made to my trade plan. but I took note of a price violating the SZ by over 10% & closing above the SZ but still the SZ held & the Short worked out. Shortby greatful-me0
GM UpdateLooks to me like it's headed back to support, will probably try to play the bounce then. At this point, every GM trader is probably thinking the same thing so it'll probably get there quickly. Not sure when, but I would short any big bounces, no position right now, not gonna chase this big dropby hungry_hippoUpdated 4
