Does someone know something that we don't about Kroger #KROK, just to be extremely simple and to the point #KR has been rounding their weekly as it approaches earnings. My theory is this, being around the corner and pointing upward on the WEEKLY chart oscillators could this ticker start a path to push past the psychological number of $50 If we do something like a saucer pattern we could get to 60 by mid 2023... Depends on where you line up the apex of the saucer. Happy HuntingLongby JDTheGreatUpdated 0
Kroger Stock is A Buy Chart 1.1 As what I expected on chart 1.1, this week the market might do some price-correction. And yesterday's trade was distinctly negative after a big run so far this month. Coming off the sizable rally, market participants took some money off the table today ahead of Fed Chair Powell's speech on Wednesday and worries that a slew of economic data releases this week could reflect a need to mark down earnings even further. Which is exactly like what I mentioned " it is likely that market will do price correction recently, and 3980ish is somewhere I 'd like to try some buys for this week. " Back to Kroger NYSE:KR trade itself. Kroger ( NYSE:KR ) has been a strong performer this year, as the grocery store company has shown strong fundamental resilience even amidst inflation and tough comparables. I have been quite bullish on the stock with the impression that some patience was needed to wait for the multiple to re-rate. While the stock still trades at 11x earnings, the stock's resilience amidst choppy markets suggests that, at the very least, the market is rewarding the stock as a potential inflation winner. The second quarter investor presentation showed strong growth of 5.8% in identical store sales. Identical sales of Kroger brands were up 10.2% and digital sales were up 8%. Excluding fuel, sales increased 5.2% compared to the same period last year. Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.90, up 12.5% year over year. Free cash flow of $640 million during the quarter enabled Kroger to repurchase $309 million of shares and distribute $153M in dividends. On Sept. 9, the Board authorized a new $1B share repurchase program. Now share repurchases are paused ahead of the planned acquisition to reduce debt. Kroger raised its full-year outlook, expecting identical sales excluding fuel to grow 4% to 4.5% YoY. Adjusted net earnings per diluted share are expected at $3.95 to $4.05, representing growth of about 9% YoY. On Oct. 14, 2022, Kroger announced its intention to merge with Albertsons. Albertsons is a well-known food and drug store in the United States and posted sales of $72B in 2021. The acquisition will create strong synergies, reducing costs and giving both companies a strong competitive advantage over competitors. Albertsons' food and drug stores are not located in areas where Kroger operates, so this will ensure better geographic sales distribution. Consolidated sales of both companies will be about $210 billion. Inflation is up 7.7% year-over-year and food inflation will greatly benefit Kroger. Several analysts are upgrading Kroger. Evercore ISI sees a favorable risk-reward with food inflation as a catalyst. They expect a CY23 EPS of $4.20 and assign a base case value of $56. At 11.5x CY23 EPS, Kroger trades at a 35% discount to the S&P500. If the merger with Albertsons is approved, Evercore ISI sees even greater upside potential ahead. The bull case would lead to a share price above $70. Strong earnings, improving prospects, a favorable risk/reward due to the merger with Albertsons, favorable stock valuation and shareholder-friendly management are strong catalysts for the stock price and should give investors good prospects from an investment in Kroger. From the tech side of analysis, 42.6ish is weekly basis support level, and 46.6ish is short term support and I would like to try some buy somewhere around 48ish, if SPX( SP:SPX ) holding 3950ish level well. And I'm cautiously optimistic think NYSE:KR will most likely to fill the gap. Please feel free to express your ideas and thoughts in the comment section. Longby SoundsgoodTFtalks0

KR SHORT IDEANYSE:KR KR made a big move this week after the Q2 earnings call. I believe that it is now overextended. On the 15-minute chart, the big price action is seen. However, the RSI indicator shows a flat relative strength suggestive of bearish divergence. The Mass Index peaked out over 27.5 and is now dropped below is the suggested trigger for a reversal of 26.5 Trading volume is about 250% of the average on Friday overall while concentrated on the early morning rapid trend reversal and late afternoon profit taking. I will look to capitalize on a quick downtrend correction with a put option with 5DTE below the current market price for maximal return albeit with the added risk of time decay. Buying Opportunity in Kroger (KR)Kroger reported earnings that beat out Wall Street’s estimates on Friday. People continued to prioritize at-home food consumption amid high inflation. This trend resulted in Kroger raising its full-year outlook, and we will likely see analysts raising their targets for the stock as well. Shares jumped 7.4% on the news, making it one of the top performers in the S&P 500. This is a low entry point based on its action of the last year, and it has pulled back to the initial breakout area this morning.Longby rossgivens114

FIND THE RANGE & GET EARLY ON THE TRENDThis particular breakdown I'll use Kroger to show how profitable you can become by getting in on "Range Position Plays". When prices create a lot of two sided trading for an extended period of time like Kroger did from Feb-May. Traders should start to identify when the range is beginning to weaken. Kroger traded in a range for 3 months before finally breaking down from its range. If you simply played the breakdown of the range, you could have taken a 3 day decline on Kroger. Puts would have paid nicely. A simple entry below 53 and you could have rode Kroger down to 47. A nice 6 point drop for an asset such as Kroger. If you decided to trade the 3 month range Kroger was in, then you would have entered this trade for a short around April 11-12th. As price broke below $60, Kroger then entered back inside of its range. Once that happened. You then would identify your support areas and play the downside accordingly. Kroger printed 3 bear legs down from 60 all the the way to 47. It took roughly a month for Kroger to move 13 points, but if you were on the right side of it. That 13 points would have been major. There was a chance to grab anything from 58 puts to 47 puts and they all would have worked out. If purely speaking on retracements, then you could have expected Kroger to potentially Pullback to around 50 after it broke its range. The 50 level is considered a 50% retracement and a GAP also was there as well. Price actually sliced through on its 3rd Bear Leg and retraced over 75% back to the 47 level. There were 3 different swing entries on KROGER: Below 60. Below 57.50 & below 53. In the end, it was a beautiful short position to get in on. From 60 to 47. Learn to spot two-sided trading A.K.A Range Trading. Once that range breaks, a trend may then form afterwards. This is one of the best ways to "Get Early" on a Downtrend. Shortby DayTraderEarl112

Kroger Gapped Up. Now It’s Pulled BackKroger is one of the top-performing non-energy stocks in the S&P 500 in the last year. Now it may look interesting to trend followers. The main feature on today’s chart is the surge after quarterly results on March 3. KR tried to pull back to the bullish gap in April, only to see buyers defend levels slightly above it. Notice the series of candlesticks this month as new support developed around $53.20. Next is the falling trendline that KR closed above yesterday. Does that mark an end to the short-term decline? Third, the stochastic oscillator is rebounding from an oversold condition. Stocks To Watch This WeekThere are no certainties in the stock market. These names have shown good relative strength and accumulation volume . This may give good risk/reward entries on some of the best names. Some of these charts still need to confirm their price action. This video is my watchlist. Most of these names are at or near all time highs or multi year highs. There are 25 total stocks on this list with 0 short squeeze candidates . Many of these have IPO'd in the last few years and still have a growth story ahead of them. Know your time frame and risk tolerance. Know your earnings dates! I go through these quickly so grab a pencil and paper and jot down the names that look interesting to you and then make the trade your own. Good Luck!Long15:08by Jtacher513311
$KR Kroger remains bullish after PEGKroger recently came out of a cup and handle with a Power Earnings Gap (PEG) and has been digesting ever since, holding most gains and creating a nice VCP / Bullpennant like formation. Today, there were about $117M in dark pools at $57, and giving the timing and price action my bias is to the buy side. An idea would be to go long shares or calls with time.
