QBTS Early-stage investments in disruptive technologies requires a different mindset compared to daytrading where % points gains are sought after.
It won't bring generational wealth...
History has taught us that an early successful investment in a disruptive technology brings with it ROI's one can only dream of.
Remember below 3 cases?
NVIDIA (NVDA) – AI & GPU Revolution Disruptive Tech: Artificial Intelligence & GPU computing Early Investment Point: January 2019 (around $40 per share, split-adjusted) 2025 Price (approx.): Around $1200 per share (after stock spilt $120) Return: Over 2,100%+ gain in 6 years
Why it boomed: NVIDIA’s GPUs became the backbone of AI infrastructure, powering everything from ChatGPT to autonomous cars. Massive growth in data centres and AI model training made it a must-own tech stock.
Tesla (TSLA) – EV & Energy Disruption Disruptive Tech: Electric Vehicles, battery tech, and energy storage Early Investment Point: January 2013 (around $6.50 per share, split-adjusted) 2025 Price (approx.): Around $275 Return: Over 2,600%+ in 12 years
Why it boomed: Tesla disrupted the traditional auto industry, became a leader in EVs, and expanded into energy products and AI-powered driving systems.
Tencent (TCEHY) – Social, Gaming, and Fintech Empire Disruptive Tech: Super apps (WeChat), online gaming, fintech Early Investment Point: ~2005 (around $0.50–$1 per ADR-equivalent) 2025 Price (approx.): Around $65 Return: 4,000%+ over 20 years
Why it boomed: Tencent became China’s everything app — messaging, payments, social media, gaming (owns stakes in Riot, Epic, etc.). WeChat Pay alone made it a fintech giant. It reshaped how 1 billion+ people interact digitally.
Not a single person on the planet would hesitate to buy any of above 3 stocks when they were a few dollars each, yet here we have the most important disruptive technology of all, Quantum Computing, which is arguably the biggest technological advancement known to mankind (mind you, AI will only come to fruition if Quantum comes to fruition) and people still have doubts.
Be thankful for ignorance for it creates opportunity. If you think CPUs and Moore's Law will still be relevant in 10 years from now then you don't deserve to be rich...
QBTS there's whole volume gap between 7.20 to 8.20 that's waiting for market price discovery, I'm betting that it's going there to find out just how much buyers are willing to hold up this stock in the coming week.
QBTS this is the exact scenario I said would happen: buy the rumor, sell the news. it is not a bullish thing once quantum speakers open their mouth because all is priced in. even more so for any future catalyst, they're sell off events for these small cap stocks. not to mention it has priced in over 100x price to sales.
it's GG I'm sorry to say, seen this movie too many times.
QBTS I hope the new base is settling around here. Defintely a manipulated short, nothing to do with fundamentals. Big MM's want to get in lower than the 10.5-11 it was trading. still...it do be hurtin even though i got in a lot earlier.
