Askari Bank Ltd. engages in the provision of banking and financial services. It operates through the following segments: Branch Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury, Consumer Banking, Islamic Banking, Foreign Operations, and Head Office and Others. The Branch Banking segment consists of loans, deposits, and other banking services to commercial, small and medium enterprise, agriculture and individual customers, as well as branchless banking services. The Corporate Banking segment includes deposits, project financing, trade financing and working capital to corporate and commercial customers of the bank. The Treasury segment covers money market activities, foreign exchange business and short-term lending's and borrowings from counterparties. The Consumer Banking segment offers secured and unsecured loans to retail customers. The Islamic Banking segment focuses on banking services to its customers in compliance with Shariah rules and directives, instructions, and guidelines issued by SBP. The Foreign Operations segment refers to the banking activities performed by Wholesale Bank Branch of the Bank in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Head Office and Others segment represents activities not performed by any of above segments. The company was founded on October 9, 1991 and is headquartered in Islamabad, Pakistan.
