This ETF is the first to provide inverse exposure to bitcoin futures, it aims to profit on the price decline of bitcoin futures traded on the CME Futures Exchange. The fund does not invest directly in bitcoin or in bitcoin futures market, instead, it provides exposure to the price of the index by investing in forward contracts. Returns can vary significantly from -1x exposure, if held for longer than a day. The fund’s index has long notional investments in bitcoin futures based on the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate, which aggregates bitcoin trading activity across major bitcoin spot trading venues between 3:00-4:00 p.m. London time. The index represents the settlement prices of front-month bitcoin futures, prices are usually determined at 4:00 p.m. (EST). As a geared product with daily resets, the fund is designed as a short-term trading tool and not a long-term investment vehicle. The base currency of the ETF is USD, it will not hedge any foreign currency exposure back to CAD.
