The fund is passively managed to provide exposure to the global gold equity market. To be eligible for inclusion, companies must meet investability and liquidity requirements, including a minimum market capitalization of $750 million. Although the fund has a global exposure, only stocks and ADRs of companies listed on the TSX, NYSE or NASDAQ may be included in the portfolio. The index weights the resulting portfolio equally, instead of by market-cap, which lowers single-name blow-up risk and may cause a tilt to smaller firms. The index is reconstituted on a semi-annual basis.
