Let's look at some key levels to identify before each trading session, especially when trading around the clock markets like futures. Before the cash session bell, what are the prices for the following levels? Prior Session High/Low Overnight High/Low Developing Value Area High/Low And then, at 8:30a ET, is price above or below the prior session high or low? ...
Nothing to see here except for an $80 drop in Gold Futures to start the week! So is the yellow metal flashing red for the markets? For now, the selling in GC1! stopped at the double bottoms from back in March/April, and as of the time of this posting GC is now down only about 1%. V-bottoms, V-bottoms, talk about head fakes, this market's got 'em!
Tomorrow morning we get the July jobs report at 8:30a ET. Here are some ideas on how to trade pre-market economic data releases. Hint - you're gonna need to trade futures.
Welcome to an impromptu Part 3 in the Video Idea Series on using Volume Profile Scripts on TradingView. Thanks to a question/comment from @sandyrindal, today's episode features a sneak peak at the Standing Camel pattern and what to do with the Low Volume Node (aka Air Pocket) between the 2 humps of higher volume.
There is a good deal more economic news on tap this week with a jobs report Friday and PMIs mid-week. Earnings continue with 25% of the S&P still left to report. Beyond my favorites futures contracts which include stock indices, interest rates, and metals, I'll be watching the Chinese stocks and what Bitcoin wants to do around $40K.
Welcome to Part 2 in the Video Idea Series on using the Volume Scripts in TradingView. On this Fed Day, fun day edition, I cover a few entry signals and/or levels for using Session Volume and a VWAP indicator available in the Public Library. It's 10 minutes and stick around to the end as I mentioned a way to learn more about futures trading, and these...
Taking a page from Lumber futures back in May, coffee is the latest commodity to party like it's tech circa '99. I don't trade the "softs," but I did find a coffee ETN symbol: JO and may look to fade the caffeine rush when the extreme sell condition cools off. Hot coffee! DOn't get burned. :)
In this first in a 5 Part Video Idea Series, I cover the cleanest volume profile distribution that I've named the "Indian Arrow." This profile is best suited to support and resistance levels, and mean reversion trading within well establish channels. Key Concepts: 1) Volume at price is very different from typical volume over time. 2) Be sure to read the Help...
There is a lot on tap this week including earnings from most of big tech (TSLA, AAPL, GOOG, MSFT, AMZN, FB) and a Fed Meeting/Policy Statement Wednesday. The S&P (ES), Nasdaq 100 (NQ) and Dow (YM) all hit all time closing highs on Friday so it's a break out or bust look on several charts. Let's take a look at the levels for the stock index futures, bonds, gold,...
Stock indices finally broke their uptrends last week, and the small caps (RTYU2021) completely fell apart. In the first of what may become a Sunday evening series, I take a look at what the Volume Profile and price structure may be telling us in terms of levels to watch this week for the ESU2021, NQU2021, RTYU2021, GCQ2021, ZNU2021, ZBU2021, and MBTN2021. Quick...
Volume Profile has been popular among futures traders since the beginning of electronic trading and the introduction of TPO charts. I use several scripts from the TradingView Volume Profile Suite for a trading strategy I'll teach in a upcoming video. For now, here are the scripts and indicators applied to the charts I show in this, and past, recordings....
There's a new TradingView feature that lets us share our watchlists. I'm partial to my sexy collection of futures symbols, so go ahead and grab it here: www.tradingview.com Also, I've got a sell/short signal on the notes. RSI (upper 88), 3-period is a bit juiced. And finally, the best resource for futures symbols and product descriptions is the CME site. ...

Instructions: 1) Using the Long/Short Drawing Function and drop it on a chart. 2) Adjust the levels to reflect the trade entry, take profit, and stop level. (Note: The default quantity is a...

Thanks for all the comments and engagement (See Link to Related Ideas). So here's a Part 2 of sorts covering CFDs, an alternative set of products and...

But futures data is a different animal. In this tutorial I demonstrate how to use a demo account from one of the integrated futures brokers to get futures quotes so that you can practice trading the...
It's rare to see back-to-back sell signals using the Extreme Turn on the daily timeframe, but here they be, separated by just a day! The signals are on the NQ1 continuous contract and we're expressing them via several MNQ contracts held short and a QQQ Put position for April 30. The separation from the T-Line (our trend filter) is also Extreme at over 2000 pts....
